Beyond Irritated

I have been planing to do a trip to DLR this spring to see some family. With all the talk about the Stitch hat each time I call I ask and no one at Disney Travel seems to know anything about it. We are going to WDW in June so I happened to talk to WDW today too.

I was in a room with Yavn and he said that it would be from booking a trip. OK can someone PLEASE tell Disney about this!

Trip planing in a big deal and those of us that play VMK would like a little more notice about these things.

I mean how upsetting was it for some that the tours were stopped, you planned a trip and counted on it and then it was gone? How many were upset that they planned a trip and then missed out on the pirate quest stuff? This isn't the reason you plan a trip of course but VMK is becoming a part of it for so many of us. That is what they want isn't it?

What I want is more information. How about telling us when something is going to start AND stop! Such as each June a new series of Quest will be released or each November doe to Holiday crowds all the tours will be stopped until such and such a date.

We have to rely on work of mouth because VMK certinaly never told us that Pirate Quest started to stopped. VMK never told us about the Haunted Mansion or the stopping of tours.

So after talking to DLR about the VMK stuff and having them tell me is was WDW only and then calling WDW to be told they had no idea, I am beyond irritated!

What would be nice is if they actually told the people working the VMK booth what was going on!! Every time that I've visited DLR they said, oh, keep checking back, we're supposed to get a new set of quests any day now. They either don't know anything more than we do or have been instructed not to say anything about it.

And whatever with this whole, we stopped tours because people complained about them. Whatever! Instead of fixing the problem of people going on it multiple times or that the tour was only offered twice a day, they just discontinue it?

Why don't they just put out special quests similar to the Holiday Quest so it keeps people coming to Disneyland and have just basic cards available at the kiosk?

Why didn't they ask *ME* before they did anything? :rotfl2:

Well I hope they read this thread because I know where you are coming from and yes when we book a Disney Vacation I take all things into consideration including VMK and I would be more than livid if I had something planned and it was not happening!

this has always been one of Disney downfalls one hand does not know what the other is doing

I would call the Walt Disney Travel Company number for DLR bookings and
see if they have a "Stitch Package". Maybe they can find something by
looking it up that way.

I know there's a (714) 520-5060 phone number for package reservations from
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST daily.

It happened to my husband and I in January- we booked in October and really the reason we decided to do the trip was to take the tour and get vmk quest things

Not only did we not get the tour- but they didn't have the pirate quest cards either- so yeah it would be nice for those of us who plan things in advance like you do with Disney vacations to have a little information in regards to in park vmk things

Instead of posting here, why not write WDW Reservations *AND* VMK about this?

Sigh, I have called the DLR number. In fact I was on hold with them while I was talking to VMK Red. Then I called WDW.

I wrote a letter to Disney about the tours, not complaining but suggesting that they take reservations just like they do with other tours. I am an uber planner and I really need to know what day I was doing the tour.

I got the standard reply letter back so I am not doing that again.

But you had a good idea I will wrote to the black hole. I have not done that.

why not post about it here they do read the boards and it also helps to know how others feel and share how you are feeling.

Writing is good but a forum board sometimes get more notice.

The tours weren't stopped because of the survey. The Tour cards expired at the end of 2005 so it was already planned that the Tours would stop. They might not have been continued or brought back because of the survey. Writing to Disney/VMK might bring back tours in the future.

When I met Yavn back in December he said that implementation of the tours was up to the individual parks. So reservations at WDW and no reservations at DLR was a park decision not VMK.

I wasn't saying that the survey was the reason why they stopped the tours. EVERY cast member that I have talked to at DLR has repeated the same spiel, the tours were stopped because they just caused too much unhappiness. People were going on the tours multiple times. It was a mad rush to the VMK booth to book the tours. There were only two people who could do the tours so they couldn't offer more.

So, instead of fixing it so people could only go on one tour, maybe by scanning their passes or something, and offering more tours, they decided to cancel the whole thing.

We are going to DLR for dinner tonight. I'm going to check to see if the new quest cards are in :)

There may have been a lot of reasons for the Tours not continueing. I could have missed it but, nobody has mentioned that the Series 1 Tours were always scheduled to stop at the end of 2005. They didn't just decide to stop tours.

Yes, they could have avoided problems with tours if they limited it to one person per card. I asked Yavn about this and their thought at the time was they wanted to allow a family to go on tour even if all members of the family did not complete or participate in the quests.

BTW as of 02/15, no new Quests.

I was just in vmk_runo's cook out time room, and the question was asked on how to get the stitch hat. Runo said by booking a trip to DLR. The next question was, can you get the hat by booking a trip to WDW. He said he didn't think so. Then he said he didn't know the details on how to book a trip to DLR.

And on 2/16 :( STILL no new quests :(

Kevin, the kid who was manning the VMK booth, said that the new prize for doing all four quests was two fast passes to any ride. I don't get it. Why aren't they giving out something cool?

I asked about the hat last week in WDW's guest relations, and of course they had no clue what i was talking about.

And some bulbous-necked CM there said the game brings Disney Co no revenue.

Is it too late to get a refund on my $500 AP then?

I hate when clueless people talk.

Ok I'll shut up now. :coffee:

Nice - another clueless cast member. That sets me off, I sure hope you ripped into that CM and explain.

No ripping. But I did, however, make it painfully obvious to him that I was staring at his quivering neck.
