Wow. Well, that was a great night for awhile. My perfect contract FINALLY came through after months of checking daily. Made an offer, seller accepted, waiting for the timeline-- celebrating with the family.

I receive an email four hours later.

"I am so sorry! :( I waited to enter the information for a bit on the contract, and another agent sold it."

Wow. I am so upset right now. Had to break the news to the family this morning.

Has anyone had this happen before, after you had been told that your offer was accepted?? So heartbroken!

It is a recommended site on here, too. I'm not going to share the name because it is not the company's fault, but it is one of the top ones suggested.
That’s very disappointing, you have every right to be upset, but I’m not sure I’d hold the broker accountable. I feel like that could happen at any of the brokerages with a less than perfect sales associate. It’s certainly worth an email or call to management about it, but I would absolutely ask for a different sales associate if you found another contract at the same broker. Remember the old saying...fool me once...

I feel your pain. We recently had an offer accepted to later find out, from my own research, that it wasn’t listed as the correct UY, and then later found out it had less 2021 points than listed as well. The broker and sales person were extremely apologetic and took full responsibility for the error. We let that one go, worked with other brokers on various offers, and ended back at the one who made the mistake and wound up with a better (more loaded) contract for a cheaper price. Just be patient, things have a way of working themselves out if you stay diligent and patient. Good luck!

How is it not their fault? Two agents sold the same contract. I'm not saying it can't happen but they should have procedures in place to prevent it (maybe they do and didn't follow them, but then again that would be their fault). And if you were first, why did the other person get it? Just because the paperwork was written up first?

Hopefully an even better contract will come along and it will all work out. Maybe as a courtesy, the broker can let you if another contract comes up before it gets posted to the website to give you a better chance to get it.

I hope so.. it's a 100 point Boardwalk December UY, not the most common find..

He said he will grab the next one before it is posted, but based on the fact that I have been waiting for months for this one to pop up (I have checked five site daily) I feel like he will forget before another one shows up. So bummed.. I also am packing up my room from a trip at Bay Lake (rented points) so it's a double whammy today emotionally. 😔

We had the same issue with one we saw last year. Our offer was accepted and then got a call that the total points for the contract was wrong. Instead of the 200 we were looking for it was I think 150 which would not work for us. I recently looked up another listing the other day (while waiting on our seller to sign the contract for another one we put an offer in on) and noticed that the 2021 points on another we put an offer on last weekend had WAY less points than what was originally listed.

So sorry you feel like you got punched in the gut.

I can only partially imagine the deflated feeling.

Just work on picking up the pieces and trying again.

Good luck with your pursuit of a good contract.

I wonder if someone offered more $$ on the contract so they went that route instead? I had one recently that I offered practically asking price. Figured I would get a counter and hours later they talked to the seller and relisted the contract for $15 more per point. Wanted to know if I was still interested. Um...nope. Get your stuff right before listing the contract.

Possibly-- I offered asking price though. I guess it's possible someone offered more...😔

I’m so sorry. That could happen to any one of us if the agent didn’t follow protocol or hesitated and I know I’d be bawling 😭 I wonder if it might be worth looking into direct with the need for a “unicorn” contract? Some of the promotions might apply? We have 3 hard to find contracts so direct is often easier and not a huge difference in price especially with resale prices climbing.

Boooo hoooo! That is a bummer. I hope you get an even better contract. Resale is not for the faint of heart as anything can happen. Sorry!

I can't tell if this is sincere, or sarcastic. 🤔 This is my fourth resale contract, but even so..

I am so sorry this happened. It definitely does stink that you had the verbal agreement and then no follow through. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that another BWV Dec UY comes available soon!!!

Well, I put in an offer on a contract in the late winter, my offer was for more than the accepted offer and the resale company did the correct thing and sold it to the first accepted offer. I was bummed I didn’t get the offer in sooner. That resort now is selling for $40 more a point right now.

I'm sorry this happened and don't really want to upset things more however I'm kind of wondering why the company doesn't call the other buyer and tell them there was a mistake and that the contract had already been sold???? That is what I would have expected. Verbal agreements are still an agreement and if the timing was that they agreed to you first then that contract was sold. That the other agent didn't know and someone else would get that news is unfortunate but it should be unfortunate for the second person as you were the first buyer.
