I have a secret. You cant tell anyone. Epcot is my favourite park.
I always feel like Im supposed to say its Magic Kingdom, which probably just pushes all others aside on account of it being
well, the Magic Kingdom. But oh how I love Epcot. How much? I even love Living with the Land. Thats how much.
I have another secret. You definitely cant tell anyone this one. I dont like the Food and Wine Festival. Its just not my thing, and theres something about all the different aromas hitting me at once in 90 degree heat that makes me faintly queasy. Still, though, I love Epcot.
Im somewhat ashamed of this, but we did not make it to the park for 8am for the start of morning EMH. I woke up determined to squeeze every possible moment out of today after being defeated by sore feet and an old back injury the day before, but although we were up in plenty of time I just couldnt seem to get moving fast enough. Ok, so we arrived at 8.15, but Im convinced it cost me a double ride on Soarin!
As this was our third time through bag check at the parks, I was beginning to notice a trend long lines and slow progress. I cant even guess at why this seemed to be the case, but it was a trend that continued and worsened throughout the trip. The parks didnt seem to be overly crowded but it just seemed that we were waiting much longer to get through bag check than we had on any other trip.
Soarin, of course, was first on our agenda, and it was still more or less walk on at this point (the only time we saw it like this!) Soarin and I have had a rocky relationship, from a disappointing first meeting on our first trip (when I was underwhelmed after all the hype) to our full blow love affair of our second trip. How would we fare this year? After my first ride this trip, all seemed well
After Soarin we headed across to Test Track for the first of so many rides that I have actually lost cost. Somewhere among the number we became that couple and started a series of comedy poses for the camera, knowing we could collect them on our Photopass. (The CD has just arrived so I'll be able to do a photo post soon)
For those of you who have followed over from my PTR, you may recall that I have an issue with a certain ride in Future World, and it was time to put that issue behind me
it was time for Mission Space. (Green Team, though, not Orange. I was keen to point this out several times to the CM at the gate.) Another couple made up the other half of our team and my anxiety was apparently plastered all over my face since the very nice lady tried to reassure me before our capsule opened.
Well, how silly do I feel? I loved this ride. In fact we both did. We didnt love it enough to attempt the Orange side (and even that was because Ross wouldnt go on it with me I would have at least given it a try.) We ended up riding this multiple times throughout the trip.
After another ride on Test Track, we only had a few minutes to make it over to World Showcase for our first Dismeet of the trip as Id arranged to meet Tanz in Italy. This is the first time Ive actually been round at World Showcase before the ropes come down and when I saw everyone lining up like they were entering I race I was slightly worried we would get trampled. Heat was also becoming an issue for the first time. It wasnt even eleven yet and I was already a wet, sticky mess. Once the ropes dropped we hurried round to Italy and had a lovely catch up with Tanz before heading in for our ADR at Via Napoli.
What can I say about this restaurant? The pizza was perfect, our server was very charming (and, like every other server I saw, very handsome ladies, I highly recommend an ADR here!), and the atmosphere and décor inside were both amazing. We opted for traditional margherita pizza, which was huge, but was so good there was no chance I was leaving any of it uneaten!
