Beware when using lockers

At USF Sat 8/24 I reluctantly placed my backpack, containing a very expensive video camera in the lockers at MIB, where signs entering the ride stated "no carry on bags allowed" - I pulled my wallet and $ and put them in one of my pockets - my room card was in the other pocket. As I backed away from the locker the red button is flashing and it says 'push to lock' - I do and it locks. As I get on ride I am surprised to see so many people with bags and a net in the car for carry on bags - I am upset that I left my camera! Return to locker and get my pack safely, but there is an English family and several guards standing nearby - the mom is sobbing! They have had their bag, containing all their ID, $ and $1000 camera stolen from their locker - I suspect that perhaps they missed the step of pushing the red button in to lock the locker and it would be easy for someone watching to see if people did not lock their lockers before walking away - or maybe there is some way of getting into the lockers? What a nightmare for them! Needless to say I always took my bag onto the ride from then on with no problem - I did, however loose my room card from out of my pocket ( that ride really spins!) and had to go to Guest Services who gave me a handwritten note for FOTL for the rest of the day and called RPH to cancel all charge privileges on the card. So be sure and push that red button on the locker - or disregard the sign and place your bag in the net - why do they have that sign there if they don't enforce it?!

It's a good idea to always press the red button and then pull on the door to make sure it is locked.

the sign is there because you should see the size of some of the bags that people bring with them. plus some of the bags are really "overstuffed". this gives them the option to aks you to store your bag.

remember they put three people per row and if you get three 200 pounders plus bags in one row, all the fun is gone at that point. :smooth:

I'm pretty sure there didn't used to be a place TO put your bags on the attraction, originally, either....

It's true though, some people seem to bring their luggage with them! LOL

MIB999999 generally travels with a bag no larger than a bag of nuts, in fact, it IS generally a bag of nuts  but he doesn't lock them in a locker, he prefers to hang them on the hook that is provided, and then leaves them behind!
This is probably why they say no bags on the ride...LOL
It's the MIB999999's nuts rule. ;)

MIB9's is known for leaving his ET poster in the pouch and his nuts hanging on the hook. and as far as the other 3 of the fantastic MIB 4 are concerned he is now known for his new score of 894,000

Sweetie...did you hit your head???
One less hit on the exhaust port, it's 874,000 you're known for now... :p :p :p

sometimes the bags are too big to fit in lockers and people still try to jam it in there, and then they come up to us saying that the locker is not opening, and when we have to restart the computer and apply pressure at the door for it to unlock. It is definitely recommended that you bring the bags on the ride, yes it does slow down the loading process, but it's much better. Lockers are a real pain, and sometimes gives us unnessesary headaches.

Sorry ucfdude01, but i do not think that is what USF says in the training tape or what the attendents out front are telling people.

i personally do not want to see the overstuffed backpacks on the ride.

It reminds me of once on the Hulk, a guy carried a huge stuffed dog the size of Robin onto the ride. He put it between his legs, hoping it wouldn't fly out. The ride op took it aside and hid it behind the control booth. Imagine if he did take it along! It would have flown into orbit and zonked someone on the head! :)

Always remember when you re enter your locker choose the option to keep it active and make sure it locks the second time. Also make sure no one is watching your screen when you type in your personal code too. Never share your locker either if you have multiple bags don't hesitate to get two lockers.

By the way, back in the time of Marti Gras I took my beeds on the Hulk and lost them! After the ride kids were running to pick them up down below.

well i was just saying what we do in case the lockers act up, but most of the attendants do advise guests to bring their bags on the ride, since they can be hung on the yellow hook, placed under the seats, or in the green net pouch, and if the bags are too big to be placed in the lockers we tell them to bring the bags inside and we'll hold it for them till they get out of the ride, same thing with stuffed animals like the 6 ft scooby USF has decided to offer.

Youse guys are certainly talking about all different rides, right?
I know how the lockers are sometimes finicky (got issued a locker before that already had stuff in it... scaaary!).
And some rides, pocket change becomes a missile!! Ouch!

This is why I said make sure you resecure your locker if you go in and out of it. Also make sure the person helping you is a Team Member look for the name tag...Another friendly tip...
