I just booked a MYW package with dining + 4 day base tix for 10 nights 11/24-12/04 through AAA. My total came to ~$3133. I thought this was a little high so I went home and did my math. Not only did they charge me $149 for the ENTIRE stay they only gave me a 15% discount for the entire stay as well :scared1:

I was suppose to be charged $149 w/15% off the FIRST 3 NIGHTS and $134 w/20% off for the last 7 nights(+$900 dining, $710 tix, $110 ins.)!!! My total should have been $2980. Thats a $153 difference. Not that much but HOW DARE THEY! These prices and discounts are clearly advertised. How many people have taken it for granted that theyve been charged correctly and NOT checked. Thats a disgrace.

Usually though, the rate for your first night is the rate for all the nights of your stay. You always need to watch when booking from a more expensive season to a less expensive one, as it usually requires 2 reservations.

The policy at Disney is the rate at the day you check in is the rate you pay for your entire stay. So if you check in during regular season and cross into value season you still pay the regular season rate. This goes the other way too, check in at the value rate and even if the rate changes you stay at that rate. The only way around it is to have 2 reservations.

So, actually you were charged correctly.

It works like this - if your trip starts during Value Season and extends into Regular Season, your ENTIRE trip is booked at the Value Season rate. It just stands to reason that the reverse would also be true - your trip starts in Regular Season so that's the rate you're paying for the entire trip.

To get around this, you need to cancel this reservation and book two separate ones - one for the first three nights and a completely separate package for the seven Value Season nights. That's the ONLY way you're going to be able to get the best room rate - but you have to balance/calculate that out against having to purchase at least a one-day non-hopper for your first three nights and any other pass of your choice for the seven-night portion, as well as will the MYW dining plan be worthwhile for both packages or not.

It is a bummer, but they didn't mistreat you. I have two reservations booked because of this very thing. It is saving me $200.00, too.

Also when you book two separate reservations for the different seasons you will have to get at least a one day base ticket on one of the reservations since all packages must have park tickets includes. Disney's rules not travel agents.

If you take that into account the booking you have is probably a better deal unless you only have two people in your party

The other downfall to it is that you have to check out and check back in and get new room keys, etc. You may also get bumped into another room, this doesn't really happen much but there is always the possibility
