DW and I were on the 8/29 sailing of the Wonder last week and had a WONDERful time. The weather was great we had a very enjoyable time.
There were many great memories with my DW just enjoying the time with each other, the beautiful ship and everything I can think of. There was only one thing that happened during the cruise that was disappointing that I thought I would share a so that others would not have the same experience.
This was our 6th Disney cruise. A few sailings ago, my wife saw an item that she really liked and wanted to bid on. It was the Captain's Hat. We had tried to get it a last September and were outbid, no big deal. The hat wasn't available one the 10th Anniversary Sailing in April earlier this year, but it was there last week. We waited until Saturday night at about 7:50 to put a bid in (the bidding closes at 8:00). We stayed around hoping that no one would bid, but if they did we would be there to up the bid. At about 7:58, a person picked up the clip board and moved to the other end of the table. The person held the board and kept asking the CM over and over what time the bidding ended. The person was basically playing games and kept asking so that the time would expire and no one else would be able to bid. Finally the CM said that the person needed to complete the bid and put the clip board down. Again the individual kept holding it until the CM took it and placed it back down on the table. I picked it up to bid, started writing and the CM told me that time was up and I could not complete my bid. To say the least DW and I were not pleased with how it was handled and how this person was playing games. As the old saying goes, "If you don't have anything good to say don't say anything" so we walked away without a word. My DW was very upset by what this individual did. I think more important was that it was in front of this person's teenage child. It did not set a good example for the child and sent the wrong message on how to get what you want.
We hope that we will have an opportunity again and I know that if we do, we will act more mature and responsibly in front of our children. At least I have a conscience and won't feel ashamed of how I handled myself.
