Raise.com has a coupon out for $10 off a $25 purchase for new customers.
So I find a $25 Amazon card for $24.75, and then a small second card to get me over the $25 limit. The coupon code attaches to my order no problem, and shows me the proper total minus the $10 coupon code.
But when I hit the "Submit Order" button, I get an order confirmation for ONLY the Amazon card, and since it is now under $25, the $10 coupon code was NOT applied to the order.
No warning was presented that the other card had sold before I submitted my purchase, so the coupon wouldn't apply. Nothing. Nada. (I've reproduced the steps to prove there was no warning message and I didn't miss anything. My confirmation email even SHOWS the coupon on the order, it just doesn't subtract the coupon amount from the total.)
I would not have purchased the gift card had I know this was a possibility with their site - I can get 5% off at Amazon with my Discover card, so I wouldn't settle for just 1% off - I bought only because of the coupon. I understand that they don't hold cards, but there should be a message saying something has become unavailable, or that a coupon code has become invalid because of changes to items in your cart! I have not had this sort of issue with any other gift card reseller - I have always been told if a card was no longer available when I attempted to submit the purchase.
So I called Raise, and after getting no where with the first line agent, speak to a Supervisor. He admits there was an issue and that it will be "sent to their development team", but otherwise doesn't give a hoot. All he offered was another $10 off $25 coupon, so I could spend yet MORE money with them. Uhhh...no thanks. I asked for any of the following resolutions: (1) cancel the order, (2) credit me $10 on the Amazon card sale (it was just $.25 shy of the coupon requirements anyway) or (3) give me a coupon for $10 off any purchase, which would allow me to get close to the same level of discount I should have gotten with my original purchase. He refused to do any of them.
What cruddy customer service!!!!!
