Thank goodness the kids weren't home today when my Kohl's box arrived: Not only had they taped the packing slip to the outside of the box, the box itself was stamped in large letters on two sides naming the exact contents of the box! It looked like normal box markings so I'm surprised I noticed it...but my kids sure would have!
Note that this was a shipping box with the boxed item inside it; it was not something like a scooter that could be shipped in its own box [with a photo of the item on the box].
Uggh. I have several more boxes coming from Kohl's that I hope I'm the first to find at the front door! No more online Kohl's shopping for me.

My husband and I were joking about this a couple of days ago when we had a Keurig shipped. It said Keurig all over it! We said well good thing we didn't order LEGOS from them and it said it all over the box too. But we were joking! Crazy...

My sons shake n go raceway set came in 2 days ago in a plain khols shipping box with no wording of what was inside. :confused3

A couple things I ordered came with a warming that they would ship in the original packaging & info would be on outside of box. I know 1 was from Kohls.

You would think stores would be a little discret on what they ship to someones home.

Walmart was worse, we pulled up to the house the other day to find a huge box for the pink electric scooter my dd8 wanted for Christmas sitting on the porch, it also showed up two days earlier than I expected. She saw it before I did. I was furious!

I've received probably close to a half dozen boxes from there in the last week and none were labeled as to what they were.

Agree with the previous poster about Walmart! A coworker of mine ordered her daughter a pink scooter from Walmart and when she got off work and picked her girls up from school, there it was on the front porch. There was no hiding it. It was her Santa Claus gift. :( You would really think more effort would be made to be discreet, especially this time of year.

I have also ordered things from Walmart (not gifts) and they come in their original package, just wrapped in plastic with a shipping label stuck to it. I read some negative reviews on Walmart . com of Lego boxes being shipped this way as well.

The (unmarked) Lego box I got yesterday actually has a note on the inside that says, something like "we know this is probably a gift so we send very plain packages" which I think is awesome!

Amazon does this too. One of my friends ordered a little tykes basketball hoop and it had a huge label on the outside of the box. She was glad it was for her child who wasn't a reader : )

I had a similar thing happen with 3 large shipments of luggage that came for our upcoming trip.

Thankfully, I was able to sneak the boxes into the house and secret them away in my bedroom before curious kids saw what I was doing.

I wish companies would be more discreet when shipping, especially during the holiday season.

I ordered together all from amazon and it was in the original box with photo and all. Luckily I found it before DS did.

I haven't had that issue with Kohls, but I have been nervous about that. I did almost all my shopping online. I will say when I go on Facebook multiple items I bought for the kids show up as the adds and the kids are like cool mom, that's what I asked Santa for:scared1:

I ordered a Little Tykes toy from Kohls for my daughter last year and there it was, on the porch with a big color picture of it on the box. Thank goodness my son wasn't home from school yet. Kind of related - I noticed that when I ordered Fisher Price toys from Amazon it had the option to order economy boxes, which is the gift in a cardboard box with the picture on it, instead of the color boxes that you see in the store. I ordered the economy (no price difference) bc they were gifts for my nephew.

It isn't just Kohl's or Walmart, many retailers have items shipped from third-party warehouses these days. That's the cost of getting items in a lower price, quick shipping system.

This drives me crazy. I look at something online and the next thing I know there are pictures of it on any other page I go to. Hard to be discreet, and I don't really want to clear my cookies every few minutes.

If you do your shopping on the computer do it while in the in private mode on your computer. This keeps your computer from saving cookies, passwords, etc.. So you will not get those targeted ads.

My daughter is getting ready to move out for the first time and I bought her a Vacuum from Kohls, and it was delivered with the address just taped to the vacuum cleaner box!!!!!!! Everyone on the street could see there was a Vacuum on my front porch!!! Thank God I got home before she did!!!!

Best Buy does this too! I ordered 2 tv's and they both came in their original boxes with pictures of the tv's on them. Also, UPS just left them on my front porch in plain view...it's a miracle they weren't stolen!
