Beware- Boardwalk Pool

Wow! I've never read a thread like this on the DIS! There's always the stomach bug threads, but never this.

So sorry to hear of the trouble people have had with this nasty parasite! It might ease some fears to hear that even if you swim in the same pool at the same time as someone who picks ups the parasite, you may not become sick. We were at the BWV Aug. 23-30 and four of us swam in the pool daily....We are fine!

I was hoping to hear from others who were there at the same time. I'm so glad that others did not become sick! It is likely he could have picked up the parasite somewhere other than the pool, but when the doctor mentioned pools and my brother said they were having "unscheduled" cleanings it just clicked with him. It is possible he could have picked it up from bathroom fixtures or other surfaces. I had never heard of this particular bug and I just wanted to let people know about it. The best defense is to not swallow the pool water and wash your hands! I also wanted to add that we have been to Disney about 30 times and have never had this happen before so I do think it is a rare occurance!
