I just got back from an eight day trip at Disney, which was overall a fabulous trip! A HUGE glich occured though. As most Dis'r know and do, we all make our ADR's a priority on our planning agenda. I even called a week before we left to confirm. Imagine my suprise when I went to check in to my first reservation and they couldnt find my name! After some searching they found it, but it had been canceled!!! I immediatly got on the phone with the dining line only to be told that ALL of my reservations had been canceled "per Stephanie Flannigan'', and some other meals had been scheduled in their places. Now that is my first name, but not my last name, and I did NOT cancel ALL of my reservations. No way. The CM looked and said unfortunatly there were no tables available to reschedule me at. I was beyone upset as I had been planning this trip for quite some time. I kept insisting that I had not canceled them. She kept putting my on hold and then finally got back on the phone and told me she found out what happened. The CM looking at my file hadnt closed in when she answered the new caller. The new caller's name was also Stephanie. So the CM got confused and booked all of the new caller's ressie's on top of mine. So later Diseny dining went through and canceled all of the re bookings. Since hers were scheduled after mine, they asummed I had changed my mind about where I wanted to eat and canceled all the first ones, aka my ressies. So now I had nothing I wanted, and this other girl probably wont be able to find her's when she gets there. The CM was great and personally called all of the restraunts and told them what happened and they all agreed to let us in. But still, not how I wanted to spend two hours on the night I got there! So BEWARE that they close your file before you hang up!!!!

I can't believe what I read. I can only imagine what you must have gone through, and all because of someone else's blunder.:sad2: I'm just glad that everything worked out well in the longrun. Phew:cheer2:

Yikes! Makes me want to call and confirm my ADRs for December!

Actually, it makes me not want to confirm my ADR's for the end of the month.

This error happens when a call centre agent already has your file open, and does not close it at the end of the call and overwrites your information with the next person's.

If I don't call, they are not opening my file and this particular error will not be occuring (hopefully).

glad to hear that there was (although it took some time) resolution to this problem.

On two occasions during my last rip I saw people standing at a check-in podium when the CM was telling them they could not find their reservation.

I would imagine that some of those are people who didn't actually have them to begin with but still wanted to get in... I've seen that happen.

Our last trip they couldn't find our reservations at some of the more popular restaurants... I went to concierge to confirm the rest of our reservations. Most of the reservation numbers I had were all wrong. The concierge checked by my phone number and found they had completely misspelled our names.... concierge corrected this and printed a list of all our ADRs.
When we arrived at Le cellier someone had already checked in as us?
The CM simply shook her head and said it happened all the time and said it was no problem and we were seated in 15 minutes.

Just out of curiosity, how would you know that?

It doesn't happen, but in the hundreds of ADRs I've made over the years, I've had them not be able to find a couple of mine because of CM mistakes - wrong phone number, mis-spelled name, made for dinner instead of breakfast, etc. I don't know how you could tell by observing that someone was faking a lost ADR to get into a restaurant. :confused3

Definitely leave them alone. The more they open your file, the more likely they are to mess it up.

When you check in the front desk can print you a list of all your ADRs. Get that and keep it with you. If there is a problem at least you can deal with it prior to arriving to eat.

We had the eyperience of my name being misspelled, so when after check in requested a list of all my ADRs, they only had one (but quickly found the others as well, under a slightly wrong name). When we tried to check in at Jiko the cast member insisted that there was no reservation for us, even though I spelled out the wrong spelling of my name that was used for this ADR! I actually could see her screen and she just kept scrolling past my name!!! :scared1: I was just about to jump in and show her that my name was on her screen (I think she was not really aware that I was seeing her screen and felt that I was not really supposed to see it anyway) when she finally found it!

So I assume that the vast majority of people claiming they have an ADR which cannot be found really have one!!

Ohh you poor thing! I would have been balling my head off! I'm glad they worked it out for you though.

I called to confirm our ADRs before our August trip, and found they had them all under a wrong phone number in a non-existant area code. Some CM entered 811 instead of 810 for my area code, and for some reason, there's just no fixing it. Every time I call, the CM I talk to tries, but the next time, its always still under that wrong number. Not exactly reassuring!

OMG my heart almost stopped, lol, that is SO close to my name, but is not...I hope my ressies are OK...

Jot down your ADR reservation confirmation and take that with you. There was a problem with one of my ADRs but it was taken care of in under a minute
with the confirmation number.
OP, I realize that this would not have helped in your case. I'm glad your situation was resolved!!

I wasn't sure whether to call and confirm or not for my trip next week but I am glad that I did. They had my CRT ressie and my Illuminations cruise ressie under the wrong name. And on one night I even had 3 separate dinner ressies because somehow when I was asking the concierge to cancel they were not and I was so afraid that they were going to cancel the ones I did want. I think we are all squared away now and felt confident with the person I was dealing with... keeping my fingers crossed for smooth sailing.

We were there 9/15-16 (after cruise stop) and I had plans to go to wolfe gang puck (my birthday).. when I checked into the hotel and confirmed my reservations, they said that I had made upstairs seating and that wasn't on the dinning plan.. of course I explained that I had dinning and had made the reservations long before.. I didn't realize that I was dinning in a place that didn't accept the disney dinning..

Was a long conversation, supervisor had to call around.. took hours before I was told that I could go to Ohana's (everything else was booked).. 6:30 reservation.

I shop up at 6:30.. dont have me anywhere on the list.. and there is a huge line... I was so upset, but the guy at the stand put us down.. and it worked out..

I have to say that I didn't like to have to go to Disney and have any of these conversations considering that this was planned in advance.. and confirmed..

Thank goodness though that we had dinner that night..

Oh and when I said well I paid for dinning and if everything is booked, then cancel the dinning. no go.. once you check into your hotel.. its to late...

We were there once with reservations under a name that had a few letters in common with my husband's last name - plus a few extra letters. Once we figured it out (fortunately, the first reservation was at an underbooked Marrakesh) we just used that name for the rest of the trip. I joked to the DVC rep last time we called that the Disney Dining computer seems to scramble names, she said (in all serious) "no, that's the Disney Dining CMs, they can't spell over there."

I'm glad that you were able to straighten out your ressies.

Now I wonder what happened to Stephanie Flanagan. I hope all her ADR's were OK.

What a mess.
