Can someone please tell me if this place is still open, and if so, did you try the Beverly Soda?

Last I heard, it still is.

I myself have not tried it. Yet.

I was just laughing at DH a few weeks ago, remembering how I'd tricked him and my son into trying it when we were there in 2009. I told him I'd make it up to him by trying it myself the next time we went to WDW. The next week he told me I could book a trip! :rotfl:

I suppose that's one way to make it happen. Now I just hope my sacrifice won't be too great.

The only time I went in there, people were warning others don't drink Beverly. My parents didn't listen, and they hated it.

It is sooooo gross! But....

I can't wait to taste it again this summer. It is part of our yearly hazing! :rotfl2:

I tried the Beverly last August. It was bad, but not as bad as I feared. But then again, I have an active imagination.

Well the thread title shows what's wrong with how people taste Beverly. It isn't a soda (or pop depending in where you are from) it's an aperitif. It's meant to be sipped not drunk like a soda. It's bitter but actually not bad at all if you approach it correctly. But then everyone quaffs it down which really hits them with the bitter, thus the interesting reactions.

Yes, it is still open. I took a tiny sip of Beverly and didn't care for it (no surprise there) but it isn't quite as bad as reviews state. It did kind of taste like nail polish remover, though. LOL!

My favorites were the watermelon soda (Japanese?) and the ginger ale one wherever that is from.

Yes, its there. But if anyone in your party has suffered from TTP (a serious blood disorder) do not drink Beverly as it contains quinine.

I had not tried it in a while, so i gave it another try a few weeks ago, and its as nasty as ever!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I'm the odd ball...I love the beverly!!! But I can only drink (sip) one small cup full. I get it every time we are there!!

When my ex and I were there in July, it was her first trip......I got a cup full of it, and 'acted' like I took a drink while my parents filmed it. I said "Oooo this one is good, try it hun" and she took a big drink.....and then the laughter ensued.

Don't see what the fuss is about re: Beverly, have a drink of Marmite, Beverly will be great after that.

We tried it on our last trip, and I know my family and I might be the odd ones, but we actually liked it, even our 9 and 10-year old kids did! :confused3 I guess this is because here in Argentina we are used to bitter flavors, in fact some regular sodas (especially Pepsi) taste too sweet to us.

It was so funny, when I made the kids taste the Beverly, I thought they were going to hate it ... I grabbed my camcorder, ready to tape their "funny faces" ... and then they go like: ... mmmm, it's pretty good, tastes like "Terma" (an Argentine drink similar to Beverly ...)!!!! I felt like such a dork! :rotfl:

It was still there in late December. I did not like any of the soda's there but Beverly was especially bad.

I certainly do not and would not "quaff" Beverly or anything else, but it still taste nasty to me.

Also, Marmite will probably taste nasty if you try to drink it, because it's not supposed to be drunk! I love Marmite, in a thin layer, with margarine, on toast. I wouldn't drink it....

Hold up, they have Beverly soda in WDW? Where?

I had Beverly soda @ the World of Coke in ATL when I was 13 (20 years ago) and I still remember that awful taste!

ETA: I found it in Epcot---too bad we are not planning to go to that park this time....

I quite like the taste of Beverly... it's fun when you go get a cupful, and people warn you about it. Then you sip it, they're expecting you to spit it out or make a face, and you chug the rest of it. :) I prefer US drinks like Diet DP and Vanilla Zero, but I'd drink Beverly now and then if it was available.
