Do you know when the sales for January will be out. Will it be middle of September or beginning or middle of October?

I was originally hoping the sales would be this weekend but with the article you posted that American will have there December sales until September 14, so I know January sales will not be happening this labor dqy weekend.

I really want to go on American if I can. The prices is way to expensive from Tus to Mco.

I don't expect them out before nov to be honest. its very possible they could bring them out in oct with the way they have been going at it with these sales but historically its been nov.

I to would do like travelsherry said..........I have been following the airlines for years now on a daily basis.and resently they has been o=no ryme or reason...but the fares are so nuts do to the falling ecom. that I would look now!!! last year we went in Jan,and my sisters got great rates in Oct!!!.but I have been seeing them now!!! good luck!

I have a feeling you are right due to I have seen a special for Phx Az for the last 2 wks (on and off) for January and hopefully around Labor day (tomorrow) I will see specials for our airport/Tucson and for the time we are going. I am always looking at times up to 3 x's a day on Expedia.com and aa.com.

I guess I am a little anxious about getting these tickets. I want to book now, but I have not yet due to the price is way to expensive ($687pp), but I do not want to wait too long (or I will bust).

I know that Beverly Lynn said prob October but i do not want to wait that long (unless I have to).

one of the biggest reasons you won't see too many jan sales out is because of xmas. they would have to blackout dates and its too hard for them to do that. so they bring fares out with the cutoff date of dec 15-21st. then after those are gone they will bring out the dates for further out. understand? be patient oct is just a few weeks away! if you are one of those that cannot wait then go buy it now. then when it goes down and you see it get your refund voucher. jan is not a huge travel time except for the first 3 days of the month. you have time.

Have you gotten on any email notification lists from the airlines directly? This is what I do with delta and airtran - airtran offers (for me anyway) the best deals and more frequently.
I noticed that orbitz.com didn't list airtrans low fare the last time I checked when it WAS available - so sometimes I think it pays to check the individual airline sites themselves.

Yes I have emails coming from Continental and American and Expedia.com (expedia.com has my all my destinations and they email me almost every Monday or Tuesday).

I know its hard to wait cause you just don't feel like you're going until you have your tkts! do you subscribe to any other travel sight?

Yes Beverly I do subscribe to some threads. Someone told me along time ago that if you wait for a special normally by that time there is no availability on the plane.

When I put a some airline tickets on hold a few weeks ago the airline was completely emty. So I can wait for a little while (but not long).

In my opinion, a person has to make a comittment ,boardering on obsession to find the best airfare. My personal example is,while surfing from one airline ticket site to another,I came apon the "snooze ya loose sight". Here it stated that Delta had tickets fro San francisco to Orlando for $138.00.Normally I fly out of San Jose,but what the hey.So I went to Delta,s site and there they were,only they were not $138.00,they were $131.75,so needless to say I bought them right then and there,less than $400.00 R/T for 3 people. Make the comittment,and stick to it.I saved enough money,so that we will take the hour and half drive from my home in Santa Cruz,Ca. to the airport in a stretch Limo just for the fun of it. By the way we are going in Jan, from the 4th thru the 19th.

With Snooze you lose the only draw back I see when they do list your city there are restrictions like no saturday stay over or you have to be a senor (definatley not qaulifed). I have definately had been looking into the site.

I have 15% off coupons for United ($200 less) but I do not want to go on United. I am considering purchasing the Entertainment Book from Continential for 15% off ($200 less) or even flying from Phx AZ which is way less expensive but transporation to/back from the Phx airport is an issue. I can purchase airline tickets from WDTC on Delta and their tickets are approximately $400 less but we would get in around midnight into Tucson.

I get several emails from travel companies. So in my opinion (and my opinion may be wrong) I am really trying on doing a lot of research on airline flights.

In the long run I will hold off on buying anything now until October (per Beverly Lynn's advise).

Would you believe I can get America West at $245 per person for the dates we are going!! Wow. I tryed to wake my husband and tell him that the fare would be less then $500 for the 2 of us (a savings of almost $900) and he said stay claim and wait for American Airlines to go on special :.

Beverly Lynn what do you think? How is that airline? I have heard bad things like ie Americas Worst.

I saw another special from Phoenix Az on United (w/15% off voucher) for $416.50 or US Airways for $470. Looks like we will prob be going on United Airlines. I am very leary on going on America West airline due to them losing luggage and flt delays and cancelations.

I was hoping for discounts going through Tucson but at this time I am out of luck :.unless I want to wait until October.

I cannot believe this. I got home from work and I reviewed all the specials again from Tucson AZ and I could not believe my eyes. AmericanAirline for $222 pp out of Tucson AZ. WOW. I knew the specials would be out around labor day.


I had to extend our stay one more night to get this special rate. Right now we will be at WDW/AKL concierge for 6nts paying basicly what I was paying for 5nts (in my eyes we are getting one night free due to the special).



Now I am waiting for AP or DC discounts.

***I forgot to add even though I extended one night I have saved still $314.
