HI You always seem to help so here goes......I am scheduled to leave 9/30 on US AIRWAYS out of Boston......(.Yes Logan)GULP.....and My 5 year old is PETRIFIED and so is my husband......so we have decided to Postpone the trip to a safer and appropriate time when we can relax and enjoy our trip.......anyways....US AIR will not help at all with a refund.....they are saying any travel scheduled after the 25th is subject to the same terms as usual....we will then have to pay $100 per ticket to rebook, plus what ever the extra fee is.....I would rather just get a refund though.......Do you think they will ease up on this matter and issue refunds??? Also my second question is: IF the flight is cancelled that day do they tell us ahead of time and if so THEN can I rebook without penelty for 6 months or so down the road??? And 3rd question... I have a paper ticket do I need to go into an airport BEFORE the scheduled flight to TRY to get another ticket for say march ???I really don't want to go NEAR Logan right now with all the security.....Hope you can help.......I'd hate to lose all our $$$$ on tickets we have been saving a long time to get and to afford to take out 5 year old to Disney......Please let me know what the best thing I can do to handle this...Karen

Wouldn't hurt to call and tell them (ask for supervisor, nicely, if necessary) and tell them that Northwest airlines' policy is travel scheduled from September 16 through October 11 may be rebooked without penalty for travel within one year (If the ticket itinerary you are rebooking costs more, you will have to pay the difference), and question them why they are not offering the same? (No refunds for that period though - unless the ticket purchased was refundable.)

I would suggest calling consumer affairs. we did a few tkts today and they were giving people full refunds for travel. no penalties. you might want to try calling them again. this memo came thru to us about noon.
