Beverly Lynn - HELP!! Need advice on rebooking with Delta - Please Help!`

Beverly: I need your help. On Sept. 14th my father cancelled with Delta (Express) my Sept. 19 - 28th ticket. He was given a number which now they do not know what it is for. He did try to get money back but they said only an e-ticket will be given out and to expect it in a few weeks. Now after several hundred phone calls they are telling me I have to go through Disney (we booked through Member Services). Yesterday they told me when I book to use my old ticket number. Nothing will be given to me in writing and that I have to fly by March 31, 2002. My father was originally told that I have to book by Feb, but I could use them any time within the year 2002. My friend called Delta on Sept. 18th and already got her money back. She had a non-refundable ticket which she bought through calling Delta. What is the run-around. My mother and I are thinking about a May Disney Crusie. Thanks for any help.

holy heck. if I followed you correctly you cancelled for yor trip a few weeks ago right? and you were told that you could use the tkt at another time with no penalty fees right?
I hope you got all the names of all those that you had spoken with. first off call dl back and get a supervisor on the line and explain the entire story to them. then explain exactly what you want to do with the tkt and ask if they can take care of the rebooking for you now. make sure you get their name and what city they are in in case you have any further problems.

Thanks Beverly. Unfortunatley we only got first names and I totally forgot that you once had said about getting what city they are from. My father had called them back a half and hour ago and was told that if I go after March 31st that there will be a penalty fee, but that I could use the e voucher that I had received a few months ago toward the penalty fee. At least that is what they are telling us now. Things are changing by the second it seems. I had told my father that he had jumped the gun when cancelling my trip. While my parents were in Florida during the WTC attack they had heard that the workers at Orlando International were going to go on strike because there still was no security and checking of bags after Sept. 11th. My mother is so upset that any mention of the cancellation starts her crying. I desperately needed a vacation away and staying home for two weeks was no fun. We will give it another shot. By the way, who is that cutey you have in the photo. She is such a doll. Thanks again.

its always been my experience to call back and speak to the one in charge that can do something about it. be persistant without being "snippy" and stand your ground firmly.
