We will be visiting DLR with my teenage DDs (15 and 13), do you think it's worth it for a afternoon trip to Beverly Hills? I've never been so I don't know if it's a waste of time or kinda cool? Any insight?

I have always likes Rodeo drive. For my 18th birthday my grandparents took me there. We looked in the shops and did some shopping. We had a nice lunch. My Grandpa bought me some pearl earrings. He told me "Every classy lady deserves a set of pearls." I think the memories of that day may have placed it in a special place in my memory. It could be a really fun day for you and your daughters too!

If you decide to go to Beverly Hills, this is a DONT MISS! It is an estate owned by the city called Greystone Mansion. It is an amazing beautiful place. We go there often to walk around. Although you cannot go inside, the grounds are lovely and provides a huge bit of history.
If you are in the area, you can drive east on Sunset blvd. for about 6 miles, and turn Left onto La Brea, Turn right on Hollywood blvd. and check out Manns Chinese theater, the walk of fame, Kodak theater, etc. A few historic great places to lunch are:
Musso and Franks - a bit spendy but you can google their menu and any menu for that matter, at menupages.com
25 degrees at the Roosevelt hotel- pretty inexpensive , huge portions. The hotel is also a huge historic building.
The Pig and Whistle- fun place, original booths from the first restaurant of the same name, 1920's.
Micellis- Great itallian place, very old school hollywood.
Okay, then, after you have eaten, continue east on Hollywood blvd, and make a left onto Gower, and a right onto franklin. when you get to beachwood, make a left and you can go up to see Griffith Park observatory, and the Hollywood sign.
As you can tell, I love my town. I hope this helps!

I think it will come down more to a time issue for you. It's not close by any means. It is also not right off the freeway. The rich city of BH is tucked far away from any freeway access (the 10 being the closest). For a casual eating place, there is The Farm of BH, which seems to be an industry hangout (seen Steve Martin, Jon Lovitz, Matthew Perry and several others there). Traffic can be an issue so I would say if you want to go up there, I'd be inclined to spend a day at least and maybe check out Santa Monica, Sunset Strip or West Hollywood too. I used to live around there and it could easily take 20-30 minutes to go 5 miles so I would factor in the travel time, especially as the freeways get clogged easily.

I think it would be a great place to visit with daughters that age.

We love walking down rodeo drive and surrounding street. Great to check out the expensive shops and people watch in the area.

Sooooooo cool! :thumbsup2 I never miss a day or two of shopping in the Beverly Hill/ LA area. Agreeing with the above poster of Hollywood Blvd etc. Its a fun area to check out.

Thanks guys, I'm hoping I can work it into our schedule. I'd love to go to the Farmer's Market up there too. :thumbsup2
