Beverages on SWA

Can someone please explain the beverage service on SWA? On our flight confirmation, we were told that there was no meal service and that we'd get some pretzels or something if our flight lasted more than two hours.

My question is...do they serve free sodas on board or can you purchase these? I've seen some mention of beverage coupons in another thread which made me think that beverages might be served but you have to pay for them.

The coupons are for alcoholic drinks (beer, wine, cocktails). Soft drinks, coffee and tea are complimentary.

I fly SWA a lot and I was never offered "Dr Pepper coffee"!!!!

I am flying on a RR ticket in a few weeks. I will ask for the "non-carbonated Purified water tea"

LOL, I just copied and pasted, no editing (have been accused once too often of posting pompus crud and giving recitations of web sites) and figured it would be A: fun to read, and B: people would figure it out. I am delighted that you experienced "A".
I am going for that Dr. Pepper Coffee, sounds like a winner too me, double caffine, YES!!!!! Your beverage selection sounds like fun too. Let me know how you like it.

Also, the beverage coupons...must these be purchased before the flight (we usually only drink sodas, but I'd just like to know for my own info!) or do they accept cash?

Cash is fine (exact change is great). The coupons are given away free with frequent flyer tickets. People who don't use them sometimes sell them on E-Bay.

they accept cash. I can tell you I have purchased drink coupons out on ebay for a nice savings. I have three books of 12 (they are worth one dollar each) and I think the total I paid for these three books was 12.00. Not a bad savings.
