Beverage coolers in values?

I had read a while ago the values were going to get beverage coolers. Does anyone know when/if this is happening?

I read this on another forum so I called Pop Century to confirm. The CM originally said she didn't know anything about it. I told her I read it online. She said "well if it's not on one of our sites" I shouldn't believe it. Just then she said, "Oh wait. I found it!"
According to the bulletin she was reading "beverage coolers" were being installed in all rooms at Pop starting tomorrow. (March 5) We both had a good laugh.
I'm curious to see what they look like but happy about not having to pay extra for a fridge or go through the hassle of a fridge swap.

Aren't beverage coolers the ones with the clear glass in front? If so, then they probably will be smaller than a refrigerator, and will have indentations for cans or bottles instead of shelves.

IMHO - they should put refrigerators in, not beverage coolers.

I'll take a beverage cooler over nothing! Fingers crossed that it's something that will be around when we're there in April!

Thanks for for the update! I am staying at POP in October and hoping for the beverage cooler's and WIFI to be in place by then! Fingers crossed!

We stopped at a Holiday Inn Express on our way home which in the past did not have a refrigerator in the room. This time however we saw what looked like a refrigerator. When I opened it, there was no freezer area and no cold control. There was a spot on the inside of the door for about a dozen cans. I guess it was a beverage cooler. I put some of our waters in the beverage cooler and left the rest in our cooler with ice. Our cooler actually kept the waters colder than the beverage cooler.

WDW Value resorts will ALL have free refrigerators in the rooms by the end of April 2012!

I had posted the earlier thread on another thread about them being beverage coolers.

I just pulled up the other Disney website that posts building permits.

Disney did indeed pull a permit in late February for POP for "Carpentry for Guest Room Refrigerators."

This is great news! I was ok with the beverage coolers for water and such, but the fridge will be so great with the little ones to keep milk cold for them! Thanks for sharing!

1) GF has the new "beverage coolers".
. . . they are slight;y larger than college fridges
. . . three wire shelves
. . . can and bottle holders on door
. . . will hold a milk jug
. . . has no freezer compartment
2) Did keep things very cold
. . . we put a jar of ice in the fridge
. . . it increased the cooling ability
. . . one pop can actually became slushy-ish
. . . although not frozen, ti was plenty cold

That is not a beverage cooler, that is a fridge. There is a distinct difference. I have specified them on projects before.

1) I will trust your judgment.
2) However, the waiter described this as a beverage cooler. *

* The waiter brought a "gift" from the General Manager, and
asked if he should put it into the Beverage Cooler. I guess this
could have been a colloquialism and not a true description.
