Which one do you thinks kids ages 9 & 6 would like better? :goodvibes

I think I can help you with this. We just got back today and we ate at Sci-Fi twice during our stay. My 8 y/o son LOVED this place!! He was just mesmerized with the movies being shown. The burgers were pretty good and they had great shakes, but really IMO it's the atmosphere that makes this place so cool. My DS loved the idea of eating in cars too. We've eaten at PTC numerous times in the past. DS doesn't like PTC but on the other hand, my 10 y/o DD must eat at PTC at least once during our trip.

I think they'll love the sci fi dine in theatre more. Though you can't go wrong with either!!

Having eaten at neither, I cannot truly answer your question. But for our upcoming trip, we opted for Sci Fi because we thought it would appeal to all the personalities in our group: 4 adults and 4 kids (13, 9, 6 and 3).

We have eaten at the Sci Fi many many times, and it's a must do for our DS12. We'll be trying out the Prime Time Cafe for the first time this trip, but we also are doing the Sci Fi as usual. I'd go with the Sci Fi if you have to pick one.

Definitely the Sci-Fi- you sit in cars- what kid wouldn't like that? Besides, they are probably too young to really get the atmosphere at the 50's prime time (plus IMHO the food is lousy there)

Sci-Fi for kids by far. They love sitting in the car and watching drive-in monster movies. I think Prime Time is more fun for us 50+ adults who remember the 50's. I don't think the little ones want to be told to finish all their food, and keep your elbows off the table. They get enough of that at home!

I agree, Sci-Fi is the way to go. I don't think kids would be too uncomfortable about being embarassed by the waiter/waitress for not finishing their vegies at the Prime Time.

DS (10) asked for both on this trip, but his favorite is Sci-Fi. Previously, he didn't really care for 50's PT, but wants to go on this trip for the s'mores. Who can blame him? :confused3

We've done both. My DDs would say Sci-Fi. Although they like to see me get reprimanded at Prime Time, Sci-Fi is their favorite of the two. In fact while at Wal Mart one day, they saw a copy of one of the movies shown in the Sci Fi clips and they just had to have it :rotfl: .

DH loves 50's PTC, kids love Sci-Fi. We're doing both again in November. I think Sci-Fi is definitely the better one for kids.

Neither of my kids enjoyed the 50's primetime cafe. This trip we are opting for the sci-fi. Enjoy your trip!

We went to 50s PrimeTime a couple of years ago. When planning our upcoming trip my DS7 said he didn't want to go back to "that restaurant where you get in trouble!" So, we're doing SciFi this year instead. Guess he didn't really get the "jokes" at PrimeTime.

I am disappointed to not be getting the smores dessert this time around though. Wonder if you could go there and just get that?? Has anyone done that?

I went there once with some friends back in '99 and I think we just ordered an appetizer and then s'mores. I think we got "chastised" a little by our "mom" for not eating the dinner she slaved away in the kitchen all day because she knew we were visiting :), but in a nice way of course!.. I'm sure you could go in and order the s'mores. How awful that would be if they kicked you out for that!

Sci Fi without a doubt--this is a must-do every trip! We tried Prime Time and did not like it. When you're hungry, thirsty, and a bit low-energy, the last thing our family wanted was to go 3 rounds with a waitress who was trying to be "funny". I know that's the theme of the place, but they wouldn't even tune it down when we just asked them to let us eat in peace. It bordered on rudeness. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Wow, really suprising. I understand that if you tell the "maitre d" at the podium that you do not want to take part in the fun, they will inform your waitperson, and they will leave you alone, and just give you the normal "Disney-polite" treatment. {Friends of ours did this one time} But when you think about it, why would one go there at all if you knew what went on there? :confused3

I guess we're in the minority, but our kids thought the Sci-Fi was ok, and absolutely love the 50's.

We go to the 50's every trip.

I vote Sci Fi when going there for lunch, and Prime Time if going for dinner.
But for the kids -- I think they wouldlike Sci Fi better.
