Hi!

I will have 4 or more hours between debarkation at Port Canaveral and when I need to leave for my flight. We will have luggage. Any ideas about what to do during this time? Any where with a bag check or somewhete cool we can hole up?

You can get a day room at the Hyatt MCO. Most airports don't have a bag check/locker area any longer.

That's an idea but we'll be checking them in at the airport, I was hoping to find somethinvlg to do near the cruise ship port

I think the previous poster meant if you can’t find something to do, just head to the airport for the day. The day rooms at the Hyatt grant you access to the pool, dining, etc. Then when you’re ready to go down and check your bags and get through security, you’re already at the airport.

I think that you could probably hire a private driver that would store your bags in the car while they take you to do an activity.

Or you could rent a car at the cruise port so you would have your luggage with you for the day, then return it at the airport. But both renting and picking up take time out of your available free time and may not be worth it.

I'd think you'd have to rent a car, in that case. The luggage can be stored in the trunk while you look around.

I have the same dilemma upcoming January 2023. After a chatting with an United agent, they said we were able to drop off the checked in baggage with them at the bag area. The day room rates were about $200 a room and we have 8 people so 2 rooms would be quite expensive for half a day.

This is what we did a few weeks ago. Disney transport got us back to MCO by 10am and our flight wasn’t for another 12 hours. We did the resort pass at the Hyatt but it was just the two of us adults and we needed to be out by 6pm. Hubby took a nap, we went to the pool, had lunch and dinner at McCoy’s (which was delicious on both accounts). Then checked our bags exactly 4 hours before our flight (SWA won’t allow you to check bags any earlier than 4 hours prior to flight). Now I see OP has a party of 8 and that could get expensive but I don’t see a cheaper alternative.
