We've saved $$ using DXDP in the past, but now it would cost 1600 to upgrade DD16 (who eats like a bird), DH and I. We already have the TIW from our last trip, which is still active. Thinking we'd like to add a few signatures to this trip- like California Grill Brunch, Narcoosees, maybe Le Cellier. We do eat 3X a day, or a large buffet brunch and large dinner. However, we don't mind CS. Wondering if the recent menu price increases cause the DXDP plan price to be a bargain as compared to just using the 20% TIW discount now? BTW, we generally do enjoy the more expensive menu items.

It's a math exercise. Whenever I need to decide, I make a spreadsheet adding up our costs based on where/what we will eat, factor in the TIW discount, then see which way is cheaper. If you do a lot of buffets/all you care to eats, the fact that your daughter doesn't eat much won't matter. But paying out of pocket, would you do as many of those, or stick to places where she will order a smaller amount?

Unless it's for a short trip, or a split stay with only a few nights loading up on our most expensive meals, TIW usually wins for us. We just can't eat that much for that long. Even 2 full meals a day (if you do one signature each day) plus 2 snacks gets to be too much for us. But spreading a 1-2 night deluxe plan over 2-3 days works out sometimes.

This will probably be the swing vote. You need to be honest about how DD will eat and do the math. Remember, all of you get the app, entree, dessert, and drink. If she can't eat her share and you can't find a way to spread out the credits with more meals, you'll likely do better with TiW.

We just faced the same decision. I did the math and (because we had a few signatures and a whole bunch of character meals planned), we went with the DxDP because it would give us two snacks a day cover all the meals we had planned (plus a couple more), alcohol and refillable mugs for not much more than our OOP with the TiW.

We weren't hungry for all those snacks between our character breakfasts and big dinners, so next time we'll just stick with TiW because it just works best for the way we eat.
