I got the exact same quotes from both Disney and a travel agent I've used in the past for a 4 day cruise in August. I can only get a Guaranty for the class of rooms I want. Am I likely to get a better room (or upgrade) by booking through Disney or the TA? Or, does it not matter?

I'm not sure of your TA, but if you use Dreams Unlimted(the board's sponsor) they offer you a rebate which comes off the price. I used them on our last cruise and it worked just fine. And to me ever little bit helps!

For my money, I like to go with DU. (And I swear I'm not kissing up) They've been very helpful to us so far. I believe they also continuously keep an eye out for discounts and better deals for you. Something that I don't think Disney itself would do. We've got five or six couples going next time, and I'm trying to talk as many of them as I can into using DU.

That'll get me some kind of referral discount, right? Right?

pretty please?

We used All Season Travel www.allseastravel.com

We requested the same room we had on our last cruise. As far as getting an upgrade, that seems to be just random on who gets upgraded.

We use Small World Vacations. They are the recommened TA through Mousesavers. You can find a link there.

I could very easily book our cruises myself on line with DCL, but we use a TA, who is a friend of ours. We have found her quotes and Disney to be the same. When we've check some of the discout TAs on the face the pices are better until you add in the things we always get, transfers and tirp insurance.

One of the reasons we stick with a TA, other than giving her some business, is she is much more capable of taking care of unforseen circumstances and keeping us informed of changes to the travel industry. On our September cruise we found out that the departure was being delayed by two days. We were already on our way to Florida. She was able to get on line and find us a hotel for three nights, when the one I had booked for Friday night didn't have rooms available for Sat and Sun. There have been a couple of other little things that she's been very helpful with. So I recommend a TA, regardless of who you decide to go with, just another resource for you.

I have gotten quotes from 4 different companies including directly through Disney, a local travel agency, Small World, and Dreams Unlimited and Dreams Unlimited beat my lowest quote by $300! We are paying $2873 for 5 people in two Category 10 connecting rooms. I was very impressed. This was without the travel insurance because I think I am going to pay $79 for insurance vs the $300 that Disney wants to charge for the same amount of insurance coverage! Also, the things I liked about DU is that within about 12 hours I get a reply from Sue Ellen who is working with us on our cruise. That is faster than any of the others. She has been very helpful and friendly! I reccomend them highly!

Love my TA, Jean at Your Magical Journeys. She just saved me over 300$ off a three night cruise in January 2006!

As you can see many people have there favorite agency.

Im not going to recomend one over another, but I will say,
If you decide on an agency, choose one that deals in Disney products.

One reason to choose an agency is they should be watching out for you.
All of the TA mention above do that.

In most cases unless you wish to be totaly hands on with the booking process you are better off using an agency.

Have a great trip
