Better than Visa Magic Code?

Also agree time to put this one to bed. Used the code with success 3 times so it is time to unsubscribe.
OK ... but I don't think it should be closed. The rest of us who have not been able to use the code (yet) would like to keep an eye on it. I'm glad that it was successful for you.

Would like to say a Good Bye to those who are leaving us because they find this thread has reached the end of the road.:moped: And to thoses who find this thread of some help and interest I say to them Hello:listen: .......I am glad to see that this thread will go on helping and giving insight to those who have not yet found the answers they seek on this thread...................:chat:

The thread will remain open as long as 'personalities' do not get involved. Everyone likes to get the vast info we have to offer here. As long as posts stay civil, the thread can stay open.
Now...carryon.

Haven't used the code yet and I'd like to. I will come back later to read up on those who have used it successfully (and thank them for posting) or if it is not successful. I agree with the "nap" theory. When I search the threads, it is for information and this is my first experience with renting a car. Lately I've had to sift through a lot of other things. I agree that if you want to post you should, I just don't like the tension.

I used "the" code today (67) and didn't have any problems at Sanford Airport. I used the link that was posted way back when and signed DH up for the Executive Club, we went right up to the counter - no wait. Nobody batted an eye or asked any questions and we had them re-do our credit card and charge it to another card so there was plenty of opportunity for questions.

We got a Chevy Uplander LT with leather seats, rear DVD player, etc. (You don't get to pick at Sanford, they assign you a car). 6 days for $165 can't be beat! :cool1:

I've had to change my travel plans for July & tried the original 87 Visa code this morning online & it is no longer valid.

I now have a reserv. w/ the 67 & the 57 codes - end up same amount - but I don't recall which was supposedly the 'anyone complimentary' code. Seems to be conflicting reports on this thread. Anyone know for sure?

Also making a res w/ DH work code to be safe. Only about $100 more.

Just an fyi, but the insurance that is covered on this one is only a reimbursement of your deductable. If you get in an accident your insurance will still pay for any damages, but the car rental stuff pays for the deductable--the same coverage any platinum card gives for free anyway and if you live in any state but NY the platinum coverage that is associated with the card will pay for everything--if you live in NY your insurance has to pay first then the platinum benefit can be tapped for the deductable. I know this as we were hit and knocked off the road in Fl and that is how it all played out.

What exactly do you mean when you say "on this one?" I thought when people buy insurance (liability/collision) thru the rental company, it's so that they don't have to submit it to their own auto insurance. :confused3
Or are you referring to the insurance offered thru credit cards?
I have a really great rate with this code but I'm very leary that if something happened, I'd be stuck w/ no one in my corner.

This is taken from the FAQ of National's website:

Full Value LDW -

if elected, waives the renter's and authorized driver(s) responsibility for loss or damage to the rental vehicle up to the full value of the vehicle including administrative and loss of use fees. LDW does not cover unauthorized drivers and is void if the Renter or Authorized Driver(s) engage in any of the Prohibited Uses and Violations as described in the Terms and Conditions. See the Terms and Conditions for additional Exclusions. *Note: National may elect not to repair a vehicle in which case the renter or authorized driver(s) is responsible for the retail value of the vehicle before it was damaged, less any salvage amount that National collects.

My own auto or umbrella policies or credit card coverage may provide rental car damage or loss coverage; however, National cannot interpret or advise me with respect to what they may cover. The election of any optional insurance coverage or optional LDW offered by National might duplicate, void or cause your own policies or credit card coverage to become excess coverage. The purchase of optional insurance coverages or optional LDW is not required to rent a Vehicle.

So basically if the car is totalled, you will owe the difference between what it's worth and what they get paid as salvage. Not really good insurance anyway. I'll have to read more about my own auto policy.

we got back on saturday. i used the "67" code in tampa for a luxury class cadillac with air conditioned seats that were really cool. $147 for a week. my girlfriend used the "57" code at mco for a grand caravan $165 for the week. she is not an emerald club member so she used the counter inside.

I mean jsut be wary even though the rental insurance is covered, they will only revert to that insurance if you have no other insurance coverage. I just went through all of this with Budget and that LDW really only covers your own insurance deductable at $20+ per day most will be wasting thier money to add it if it were not included and I don't want people to feel a false sense of coverage--some might be surprised how it really works!

I just reserved with this code and saved a ton of money. I just wanted to post to keep the thread going for those interested in the outcome of the code usage.

I will be using it this Wednesday.

I know this has been discussed to death...but has anyone from Canada used the 67 code? It seems that most have successfully used this code....I'm just wondering if anyone from Canada ever has....wondering if it might raise an eyebrow for a Canadian to be using this code?

Any input?

I have skimmed through this thread, but I have not seen a post from anyone who has picked up at the Dolphin (or Disney's Car Care Center) with the *67 code. Am I correct, or did I miss a post that reported success with one or both of these locations?

I've been following this thread from the beginning and I do not recall anyone picking up at the Dolphin so far. Keep watching as I imagine someone will eventually post when they use the code there.

Just got back from a quick trip to Orlando - Used the 67 code without a hitch. Walked into the lot, was directed to the cars available, picked a nice Avenger, drove to the check out lane, gave them my license, she handed me my receipt and off I went. Returned the car, just as easy. Nothing to worry about! I used the 67 code with a $15 off weekend rental coupon. Friday to Monday cost me $70.00 total.

I have to say I was a little worried and had a back up Alamo rental reserved just in case, but thankfully, everything was just fine.
