You keep your old EA#...but I did modify(say you were changing your car-but still select a midsize) my ressies and reprinted them with the Exec level. The price was still the same.

ok, followed instructions & it worked:goodvibes

one Q re the1st ressie i booked though...

originally booked using the "67" code, COMPACT with a Entertainment Two Car Class Upgrade to a STANDARD/FULLSIZE.

it shows on my ressie confirmation as STANDARD size car

Wonder if i can still scope out the Executive Aisle or it's a no-no, since i did book compact with an upgrade coupon???

(note - nothing on the printed ressie that i can see that identifies it as being booked as a COMPACT)popcorn::

anybody know?

guess it's not really an issue since i already have a Standard, just would be nice to grab a minivan or SUV if one is on the aisle.

WOW!!! Thanks for this code/coupon!! We had planned to rent a car for only the first 3 days of our 8 day trip in September due to the high cost of rentals, but using this code, we are able to rent for the entire 8 days at LESS than it would cost for 3 days - and it's Emerald Aisle!! :cool1:
Total for midsize, 8 days (Fri-Sat) is $121.25 TOTAL. :thumbsup2

OK....I just made a reservation utilizing this, but the coupon doesn't seem to apply. Here's how everything looks in my confirmation......

(1) Time & Distance ($154.69/Week) $154.69
Discount Coupon Accepted ($35.00)
Discount Coupon Accepted $35.00

It appears that they apply it and than add it back on? Even if I remove the coupon before making the reservation, my rate remains the same....just the two lines where coupon is accepted and than added back on are removed. Is there any trick to getting this coupon accepted?

I just signed up for executive status at National via continental airlines link. I did get a new Emerald Club number assigned, but thats ok. I booked a full size car using 8572967 and NF1982JDD (5 day rental) and selected a full-size car.
My bases is $130.67, and my total came down to $117.59 for a 5 day rental.
My level of service is Executive Selection for pick up May 24th.

Help please. I saw that you can join Emerald Club through Mousesavers link, however, I se some people postingthey are now Emerald Executive Club level. I'm confused as to how you attained this status if you just signed up. on National's website it says the following:
Members attain their Membership Level (described below ) based upon the number of vehicle rentals with, or the number of days they rent a vehicle from, National Car Rental in each calendar year in the US or Canada. Membership levels are determined as follows:
Membership Level Rentals: Rental Days:
Emerald Club 1-11 1-39
Emerald Club Executive 12-24 40-84
Emerald Club Executive Elite 25+ 85+ Member will be retiered periodically throughout each calendar year based upon revised information. As Members move up a Membership Level, they will be sent materials based on the higher Membership Level. Each February, Members, whose account activity in the prior year was insufficient to maintain their Membership Level, will receive materials based on their lowered Membership Level.
So how do obtain Executive status if you are new to the Emerald Club in the first place?
Thanks!

ETA: Do you have to be a FF member of Continental to use the link that was posted from Flyertalk.com?

If you go through the flyer talk link it takes you to a page that looks like you are signing up as a new EC member. I filled it all out the whole form and entered it. It did ask me if I had a new employer and I checked no. Then it came back with my existing number and upgraded me to Executive.

As for joining Continental's ff program - I signed up for just so I could get this free upgrade. Then when I filled out the form, I forgot to put in membership number ... and it still worked!! I realized afterword that I was never asked for my Continental FF number. I went back to the flyer talk thread and it looked like there is one place on the form for filling it in and I didn't notice and didn't fill it in and I still got the upgrade.

Strange...the coupon does seem to work if I select a compact and I can get the week for only $97 (versus $157 for the full size)....is it worth $60 extra to obtain a car from the executive selection?

Stupid question time.

We have a mid size reserved using Emerald Aisle. When we get there, will there be mid-size cars to pick from or will we have to pick full size and up?

Is it worth joining Executive membership? Again, won't all the cars on Executive Aisle be full-size and up?

Our trip is to CA with almost 800 miles of driving over 2 weeks time. Due to the price of gas in CA, I don't really want a larger car. I'm looking for the cheapest car that is still large enough and comfortable yet good on gas. Guess I'm saying we would prefer mid-size car rather than full-size car if at all possible since I assume it would be better on gas. :confused3

I just canceled the rental after reading an above post about insurance. This was a nice deal but can't afford to risk an accident.

I just called my insurance company and was told..."since I carry FULL coverage on my personal vehicle, I am FULLY covered while driving a rental car." I have AllState insurance BTW.

So no worries.....

As long as you explained to your insurance company that you will be signing a document for this particular rental that states you're accepting National Rental Car's insurance and your insurer said "That's fine with us-you're still covered by us first", you may not have any worries.
National would always have the option not to agree with your insurance arrangement as they do have a signature of acceptance.

With normal rentals, one DECLINES the Rental car insurance if they want their personal insurance or credit card coverage to kick in.

Read your policy if you have a copy. I just read mine. It clearly says that if you purchase any other insurance your current insurance is void. So if Enterprise walks away you pay from your pocket.

Also, there is another clause: if there is any misrepresentation then the insurance is void. So it is possible that if you use some coupon code which is for the employees of a particular company and you are not then this could trigger the misrepresentation.

If all goes well, thats good but if something happens insurance is void.

Did you speak directly to the insurance claim professional at Allstate or your agent? Agents do not understand all of the insurance coverages and contract issues. There have been mant times I have disclaimed coverage to an insured and they called to tell me their agent said it was covered. Coverage is based on the language in the insurance contract and not what your agent tells you verbally. That said, I do not know Allstate's personal auto insurance contract and they may cover you in the situation at hand. I would try to get your agent to contact a claims professional at the company for an answer. The claims professional may not provide a definitive answer without reviewing the terms of the rental contract along with your policy contract.
Good Luck!

I talked to AllState's claims rep. I was told I am covered to drive anything, anywhere (in the continental USA). If I have an accident I put the claim in on my OWN policy. I was even told not to take the insurance I was offered at the rental agency. I was then told to have a nice, safe trip. AMEN.

I have the name and time I talked to this rep. I'm not worried about it. I just called to make sure I was covered. I will be declining th e insurance as I always do, I got a GREAT rate (thanks to all of the Disers here).
That code and e coupon saved me about 100 bucks.

11 days...minivan $220.00

That brings up a question I have. In our National profile, we have declined all insurance. We are covered between our own policies and credit card. The code I used for reservation includes insurance. I wonder which takes precedense. The code with insurance or our profile declining insurance?

If using their insurance and later being found not eligible to have used the code means a problem with a claim, I would much rather not use their insurance to begin with. I just like the low price of the rental. ;)

Have a great trip. Will you try to xx out the insurance acceptance portion of the contract before you sign? Please let us know how it goes. That rate is very good.

Good question. Personally, I'm not comfortable being presented with a contract that I have to sign that includes insurance I'm not eligible for. I figure once they have my signature, that's the contract.
I'm still curious to hear from anyone who's actually declined the insurance at the counter with an agent, or tried to decline as they checked out and signed at the booth.
Car renting would certainly be easier if the companies didn't have about a billion different rates, most of which seem really high!

I've read back through this thread and haven't found the answer to this question...
I signed up and am now Executive. Reserved a midsize for 1 week for pick up and drop off at the Disney Car Care location. On my confirmation it says Level of Service- counter  Is it because this location requires all rentals to go through the counter?

I opted out last year. I never get the insurance. I'm covered by my own policy. I have done this for the last 4 years now, no problem. I do bring my insurance card with me, as I was instructed to do so by Allstate. There was no pressure by anyone at the counter or at the booth as you exit. It was one of the easiest things I did. ;)
