Better than Amazon

Recently, we went to the local stores to buy DS11 a pair of sandals since he had outgrown his. The stores didn’t have a good selection even though it’s sandal weather here so my DH decided to search Amazon. I told him to search Zappos instead because it has a better search engine for shoes.

What websites do you prefer for certain items over Amazon and why?

Amazon owns Zappos, so it can be worthwhile to check both sites when looking for a specific shoe. Sometimes one site has a lower price for the same shoe.

I agree. I’ve done that before. If you don’t know what shoes you want in the first place,though you should search Zappos first to figure it out.

Yes, and then check Google Shopping, too, just to make sure there isn't a much lower price out there.

Walmart website often has the same household items shown on Amazon at a much lower price. Some people seem impressed by Amazon but they are mostly a 'storefront' for companies to sell their goods. If you know the barcode UPC of the item you are looking to buy, you can do a web search and see what other sites have the same item. For bigger ticket items, it is certainly worth doing that comparison. Some sites offer free shipping which can be costly for larger items.

I like Nordstrom for shoes too, I like stores with free shipping both ways.
