Better Pool - Poly or Akl?

I was wondering which pool is better, the Nanea Volcano Pool at the Poly or the Uzima Springs Pool at Akl (Jambo house)? (Also, does anyone know the size of the Volcano pool - Disney lists the Uzima pool as over 11,000 sq ft but does not list the size of the Volcano pool)

AKL pool is bigger than Poly, there is more room around it on deck, and there are 2 hot tubs at AKL and zero hot tubs at Poly.

My kids like the AKL pool better because it is bigger. The view from the Poly pool can't be beat. AKL does have two hot tubs as pp stated and Poly has none. If that matters to you, you might want to go with AKL.

AKL by far! Much bigger, great landscaping, lots of quiet areas. Close to counter service and other amenities.

We have stayed at both.

AKL is much bigger than the Poly. I love the *oasis* feel to it. :cloud9: We always feel much more relaxed at the AKL pool.

Poly pool is way to small for the resort (imo). During busy times it is :crowded::crowded::crowded:.

Poly pool has no hot tub, but is has a better slide than AKL and a killer view with a sandy beach.

Both are zero entry.
:)

We've stayed at both - Poly many times and AKL once. As much as I love the Poly for nostalgia, location, dining options, easy transportation, etc., we prefer the pools at AKL and Kidani. First, at AKL you have access to two great pools - both with slides and zero entry. And the water play area at Kidani is so fun for little ones. So I do think AKL has the better pool, and we'll return there for non-parks visits, but we prefer Poly overall for the other reasons.

AKL hands down has the better pool. The POLY pool can get so crowded although I hear that they have clamped down on people using that pool that shouldn't so it may be better now.

We have never stayed at KL, but we feel that ANY pool is better than the Polys. We love the Poly, it is always our first choice. But when we stay there, when we do the pool, it is always the "quiet" pool. Even our 2 kids say the Volcano pool is too crowded. Good luck.

We've stayed at both and our favorite is the Poly. The pool at AKL is nice, but if we had to choose between the two, it would be the Poly hands down. The volcano pool is in a great location as it backs up to the beach and it's so magical having a view of the castle off in the distance :cloud9:. Plus it's very convenient to Captain Cooks for a quick CS meal or snack.

Thanks, it sounds like the Poly pool may be more exciting, but the Akl pool is a lot bigger and more relaxing?

I don't know about more exciting. It does have a fun slide, and great view. But we liked the AK pool better- much bigger, landscapping is beautiful, and more chairs/lounges. Poly pool was too small, and not much seating around pool. We ended up using the lounge chairs on the beach, couldn't find seats by pool, and now they've taken up more seating area with the Cabanas.
So if you're just basing stay on Pools IMO AK wins.

I think it depends on what your looking for in a pool. Akl is better for swimming. Poly has a better slide. Akl pool is bigger and has a hot tub. Poly pool is small and there is no hot tub. I prefer the Poly pool because of the beach and the view. There is not much to look at at the Akl pool. That being said I would never stay at the Poly in the Fall or Winter because of the lack of hot tub. I would also look at other factors before deciding. There is big difference between the two like location, transportation options, room size and price. They are both nice. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
