Better late than never!! A foodies first ever food report..With pics !

For appetizers, we ordred a flatbread:

Barbecue Chicken Flatbread - with Apple-Jicama slaw, African barbecue sauce, and four cheeses $10
AMAZING!!! Even the picture is amazing!

And we had these "egg rolls" Also amazing...I am not really corn fan, but I really enjoyed these!
Crispy Savanna Rolls - with sweet corn, bitter greens, goat cheese and curry vinaigrette $8.00

So far, so good! YUMMY.

But, at this point, a few glasses of wine into it, and I forgot to take pics of the entrees!!! Oh well! They were excellent.
I ordered the curry shrimp. Description:Grilled Shrimp Curry - with citrus-coconut basmati, early fall vegetables and Durban curry sauce $30

And DH had the Filet Mignon. This was an A+ night...Can't wait to go back!!!

All good things must come to an end....This is me at our last dinner at flying fish.

Now, when the food came out, I assure you, I was smiling!

Here we go:
We started off with garlic lemon & parmesan fries....Excellent

I ordered the signature dish: The potato wrapped snappper...this is always great. I dug in first, then took the pic..WHOOPS!

Here is the description of the dish: Our Signature Flying Fish Café "Potato-wrapped Red Snapper" - Leek Fondue with a Veal Glace, Red Wine, and Cassis Butter $36.00

DH had the scallops: These were also terrific. Nothing like the over-salted ones from cali grill, that's for sure!!

This is one of our favorites…We try to make it here at least once each trip. This time, due to some confusion, we ate here twice. ( Oh no! )
We are sushi lovers, and the sushi here does not disappoint!

We always start off with a brick oven flatbread…Well, tonight was no exception
Triple Cheese - Pecorino, Asiago, and Provolone with Sun-dried Tomato and Arugula Pesto* $12

And then we ordered our sushi…
Double Crunch Rainbow Roll - Tuna, Hiramasa, Mango, Jicama, and Spicy Teriyaki Sauce $22

"Snake in the Grass" - Barbecue Eel with Shrimp Tempura, Avocado and Cucumber $26

Spicy Kazan Roll - crab, shrimp, bay scallops, tuna and fireball sauce $22

California Roll - jumbo lump crab with avocado and cucumber $22

Double Crunch Rainbow Roll - Tuna, Hiramasa, Mango, Jicama, and Spicy Teriyaki Sauce $22

Tempura Bonsai Roll - Tuna, Avocado, Chive, Jícama, Sweet Onion Sauce, and Wasabi Cream $22

As always, it was phenomenal…We also ordered a bottle of red wine…No picture though..Sorry!!

All in all A+!

Both of us agree that the Spicy Kazan roll is the BEST.

The least favorite, that I probably will not order again, (which is my issue, nothing to do with the chef) would be the snake in the grass...Only reason being , that I discovered that I do not like the texture of eel, and it is hard for me to stomach

But spicy kazan all the way

Not much to say about this. We try to have lunch here once each trip...We always get the lobster roll w/ steak fries. SO ORIGINAL!
I ate half before I remembered the pic! Oh, the roll is SO buttery & yummy, FYI

Next stop: Jiko for Dinner!

WOW! This was our first time at this restaurant, and most certainly will NOT be our last!!
First off, we were greeted VERY warmly, and congratulated on our engagement. Then we were whisked away to the wine room in the back. There was only one other couple back there...Very romantic, and we were staring at bottles of wine all night! What more could a gal ask for??

This looks FANTASTIC !!!! I think I will have to add this to our upcoming August trip!!!!!!!!!
