Cast--Liz, Jason(DH), Neth(DS10), Brenne(DD4), mom(aka lala), dad(aka papa), Jimmie(DB32), Geoff(DB24), Brad(DBIL29), Rick(DBIL40)

We make it over to the Land, and dad is waiting, but no one else. Mom had gone back to the room to change her shoes. Jimmie and Geoff were in the African Outpost. We decide to head on in. I go over to check in, and even though I tell the CM that we will have ten in our party(I made the PS for ten), the hostess writes down seven because that is all she sees with me. So we are seated at two tables that hold eight. I let our server know that there are more people coming, he says not a problem. He gets our drink orders.
About ten minutes later, Jimmie and Geoff walk in. Oh yeah, mom did eventually show up, with a DVC bag in hand. I wonder what took so long.....
Even though the ten of us were squished into the two tiny tables, we still had fun. I think our waiter was a bit perturbed at us though, he seemed really grumpy with us.
Jason and I did the Re-Hitchin Ceremony, which I thought was not worth it. I was really disappointed.
Geoff insulted Chips physique, who threw it right back at him. Mickey snuck up on Geoff and made him jump. My brother didn't get that on video, so Mickey did an instant replay. Brenne giggled like crazy whenever anyone of them got near her.
Brad had run and got us Fastpass for the Living with the Land ride, so when we were done, we only had a little bit of time to kill. Brenne loves Food Rocks, so we took the kids in to see it. Brenne dances her way through the show. I look over and my brothers are laughing through it. I think it is safe to say that they enjoyed it. We exit and look in the garden shop, they have cute Mickey topiaries! Rick and my mother look at a display of plumerias, which smell so wonderful.
We walk to the other side, where the ride entrance is. We still have about five minutes. The Nestle Chef for a Day is taking place. Brenne and I go and watch. A woman is standing by us holding a baby, so Brenne talks to the baby. Her mommy asks where we are from and surprise! They too are from PA. We talk for a few minutes about home, children, Disney. Then it is time for us to get on the ride. We say goodbye to the baby.
Our fastpass allows us to bypass the 45 minute regular line and go straight to the front. We board our boat and float away into the Land. I think this may be my dad's favorite attraction.
Once we are done, we decide to head over to Magic Kingdom since they are having fireworks tonight. Jimmie and dad stay behind to look in Innoventions.
We pass Spaceship Earth and there is no wait, so we go ahead and ride.
Once off the ride, we play around a bit in the AT&T playground, but I get a bit impatient. So we leave.
Outside, the clouds are darkening. It starts to rain. A women nearby says that she hopes it is over soon. I say, "Don't worry. It's Florida. After twenty or thirty minutes, it will pass." Famous last words??
Mom wants to go into a shop and wait out the rain, but we want to head on to the monorail station. She reluctantly follows. It is starting to lightning. She hates lightning. She starts chanting "Please make it stop. Please make it stop." And we laugh at her....
Once we are out through the turnstiles the skies really open up. It is pouring! So we dash for the safety and cover of the monorail station. It is getting bad, and visibility is poor. We line up to wait for a train. I see one coming and as soon as it rounds Spaceship Earth......BOOOOOMMMM!!!!!! A very loud, violent crash of thunder whips through the air. The monorail does not emerge around the bend as it should. (About this time, we also notice the woman in front of us is wearing a see through skirt with a thong on. Come on people, this is Disney! Not Sandals or some other resort!)
The station controller comes on and announces that they have lost all power on the Epcot line. The lights flicker a bit, but stay on. People look a bit hesitant, and mom is freaking out. She can't get ahold of dad, and as usual, is afraid something terrible has happened to him. The lightning is getting worse and the wind is blowing the rain into the station. We decide the best thing to do right now is to wait and see what happens. The announcer again comes on to say they are trying to get power back up on the line. Pretty soon a firetruck and rescue vehicle show up, which is interesting, I figure you won't see that too often at Disney, so I tape it. They are there for about ten minutes and I guess it is determined that nothing can be done, so they leave. I walk over to the edge of the platform to video Spaceship Earth with all the lightning, and get the crap scared out of me with a pretty violent strike that makes me jump, so I go back to the middle of the platform....
They get back enough power after about thirty minutes to bring in the monorail train, and when it pulls into the station, there is some applause. However the people exiting really have nowhere to go. They can stay in the station or exit into the rain then run to seek shelter in Epcot. The CM operators decide to open the monorail doors to allow us a chance to sit down. One enters from the exit side and as soon as he does the doors shut and they lose power again. He is stuck inside, right in front of us. He is trying the emergency release, and it won't work. He motions to pull a lever on the outside, and a man next to us grabs it and pulls a couple of times before it releases and one side of the door opens. The CM thanks him and says he just didn't want to be stuck in there. A few more minutes and they get enough power to open the doors. We go inside, but now Mom is afraid of getting stuck. I try calling dad again, but get no answer. The woman next to us is on the phone with her cousin, who lives in Orlando, and lets us know that we are under a tornado warning, specifically for the Epcot area. Mom flips. She lives in Texas and they get more than their fair share of tornadoes. She is also a nurse and sees some pretty gruesome stuff associated with various storms. Add to that severe anxiety and it makes for some fun times with mom. She starts chanting and praying again, while we giggle.
The operator comes on and lets us know the same thing, and that power was cut as a precaution, that they stopped running busses and boats as well because visibility was so poor. We sit for about ten minutes, and the operator comes on again and says that they are going to test the system, using the monorail drivers as guinea pigs. We get off the train, and decide that the rain has slowed enough that we could stand to walk back through Epcot and go back to the resort.
So we leave the station. Back through the ticket turnstiles. Mom again wants to duck into a shop, but it is a nice shop full of art pieces, and I don't think they would apreciate a couple of dripping wet, wound up kids coming in(one of whom now has blue dripping off his head from colored hair gel). So we walk back through Epcot. Still can't get ahold of dad. Most of FutureWorld is closing, the only thing we find open is Honey I Shrunk the Audience. Brenne doesn't want to watch it, so Jason opts to stay out with her. Before you are seated the CMs tell everyone to move down to the end of the row, however the people in our row felt it didn't apply to them. They didn't sit in the middle, they sat right when you enter! So I loudly said "I hope my big butt doesn't stick in someone's face. And I hope I don't step on anyone's feet." Then I proceeded to step on feet, it can be hard to manuever through the row. At any rate. The people gave me a few nasty looks, but really, I thought it was rude of them to plop down and make a bunch of people climb over them. I also took a little longer exiting after the show.
I still enjoyed the show, but stuff like that irks me.
When we were done, Jas and Brenne were waiting. He didn't want to see it, so we went on. We got to Canada, and everyone was talking about dinner. So we looked at the menu board for Le Cellier. Jason thought it sounded good, but everyone was soaked. So we decided to go back to the room. We got ahold of dad, and I told him to call Disney Dining, and find someplace to eat.
Back at the resort, we all hurriedly changed. Dad had made PS at Yachtsman Steakhouse, and I told him how expensive that would be. Mom wanted to try Morocco, so I called to see if they had availability and they did. So we had a PS for 8:45. We canceled Yachtsman. With everyone ready, we headed back to Epcot for dinner. People were getting their places to watch Illuminations. It had finally stopped raining so hard, now it was just sprinkling.
Restaurant Marrakesh is in the very back of Morocco. Rick commented that they made it feel like Morocco, dark, narrow streets.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, understated. Tilework everywhere. Candleabra hanging from the ceiling.
I don't remember what everyone had, but I know that everyone raved about the meal. Different, but not so different that you would be afraid to try it. Jason had a feast sampler with lamb, beef shawarma, lemon chicken, seafood bastilla. I had a Mediterranean seafood sampler that had salmon, cous cous, a shrimp dish, and seafood bastilla. Neth had an appetizer plate of seafood bastilla. He ate all of it.
The food was delicious, the service was excellent. I think the only disappointment is that there was no belly dancer performing, because it was so late.
Definately a highlight of our trip. We will come back here.
When our meal is over, Epcot is already closed and is empty. Very nice to stroll through with the park lit up. We take our time, taking pictures along the way. Spaceship Earth is lit up, which is really beautiful at night.
Back to the resort. Here is where my memory fails me. I am sure that someone went swimming, but I cannot remember who.

Wonderful reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.
