Better breakfast Garden Grill or Cape May?

I know it’s different characters. Which is a better option a buffet with more choices at Cape May
Or a family style meal like Garden Grill? I guess less spread of germs at a family style vs a buffet but over all way less food options.

We were at GG last year and loved it. The food was plentiful and very tasty. The fruit plate was unbelievable. And the cinnamon roll was to die for.

It's been a long time since I was at Cape May but I remember the food being fresh but your basic breakfast buffet fare.

Honestly, anyone concerned about germs at a location as concerned as Disney is would probsbly be happier with the family style service. Plus, if you can get a PPO ADR, you potentially have the Soarin' advantage.

I've eaten at both. I liked Garden Grill better for a number of reasons. I thought the food was better and the character interaction was better. Garden Grill characters came by at least 3 times if not more. The food at Cape May was good, but I have found buffets to be more hectic with little ones running around.

You won't go wrong with either. The deciding factor may come down to which characters do you want to see. When I went last year, Garden Grill had Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. Cape May had Minnie, Donald, and Goofy.

I agree with this. Family style is "cleaner" as none of the other customers can touch your food. Bonus! :thumbsup2

Between the two restaurants, i'd probably go with Garden Grill over Cape May. Food at Garden Grill is soooo delicious and fresh and plentiful. Plus i absolutely adore chip & dale. Lastly, PPO ADR gives you an advantage to get on Soarin' before the regular park crowd.

EDIT: I wanted to add one more thing. Cape May is one of the quieter buffets around, compared to the others. That's one of the reasons i like cape may out of all of the character buffets.

Characters are better at Cape May. Food is better at Garden Grill. Although Cape May is a very solid breakfast buffet.

We did Cape May last year and enjoyed it...the food was really good. We will be doing GG for the first time in January and am excited to try it. I don't think you will find a solid answer one way or the other because everybody has their opinion and everybody likes different things. Based on what people are saying, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I've done both, and like the food at Cape May, love the Garden Grill. I like to get an early (PPO) reservation, and head downstairs to Soarin, then Test Track. Love the character interaction at both, but GG feels a little more private.

Are you staying at Beach Club? I don't find Cape May to be worth going out of my way for, so I would choose Garden Grill.

I haven't done Cape May before but PPO GG breakfast is our favourite character meal. Extra points for being served family style, it just makes for a more relaxing meal to me. The food is delicious and fresh (love that sticky bun bake!) and the character interaction is fantastic.

I am trying Cape May for the first time in December and its mostly because we are staying at BC and Goofy is there (sisters favorite). We have been to Garden Grill twice and I love the Fruit and Cinnamon roll. The eggs and everything else is just so so to me. Characters are great and come around a lot. I really like that the restaurant moves too. If we weren't staying at BC we probably would go with GG.

We just stayed at Beach Club and did both. While I liked Cape May better I’d always choose the one that fit my plans best. It’s not that much better that I’d go out of my way if I wasn’t staying at Beach Club.

We did Cape May this morning - it was fine. There is more selection than GG but I would not come out of my way to go there if I weren’t staying at a Boardwalk hotel. GG is great for what it is and gives you the early ride on Soarin if you get a PPO reservation, which are usually easy to find.

Both are nice. Garden Grill is better.

We ate at both last week and while I enjoyed each of them, I still prefer CM. For me, the food options are much better, as well as the atmosphere.

We currently have an ADR for GG for our departure day, staying at BWV, but I just can't seem to justify that $65 (incl. tax and tip) price tag for a meal with quite limited options. Been looking for another breakfast option and CM seems like another great option for $20 less and many more options. Great to read some people prefer CM over GG!

We very, very much prefer CM over GG. We usually eat the breakfast buffet at CM on our departure day, but stayed at the Swan for our last trip this past January so decided to try GG. The service at GG was very good, but for us the food choices seemed very limited and not all that tasty. I will note that we ate on a weekday so there were no characters, and the restaurant was almost empty. The food on the buffet was not very warm, bacon was not crispy, grits were lumpy, fruit didn't seem very fresh, etc. The baked goods were beautiful, but their taste was unimpressive. We were very disappointed and decided that next time we are going back to Cape May. For us the wider assortment of food, freshness of food and higher quality would make CM our choice for the future.
