Better book your restaurants in advance

Glad I made some ADRs before our recent trip. Couldn't get into many restaurants as a standby. Looks like Disney has done a good job of filling their restaurants with the new dining plan. Each day in the MK, a sign was up in from of City Hall stating that all the restaurants in the MK were full and you were more than welcome to eat some delicious counter service instead.

Even tried to get into Canada on a whim, and the host said they were booked for lunch and dinner for the next few months.

I have booked my meals for our trip in February - so we wont be disappointed! :flower:

DH and I booked our meals for our trip in May.....since Disney is letting you book 180 days out, people that decide on last minute trips may have some difficulty finding places to eat.

We made ours @ 170 days and got exactly what we wanted. I don't like the idea of all restaurants in an entire park being booked for the entire day, doesn't leave anything to being spontaneous. But, we've got the ones we wanted, hopefully nothing will change

I've only booked one ADR for our January trip. It's the one thing we really want to do. Nothing else is a "must do" and we can get by with either off-site or counter service. I guess it depends on your priorities. I know many people consider the dining to be as much a part of the experience as the parks.

We booked 180 days out. We could get the rest. we wanted (as long as we didn't have a specific day) BUT we could not get the times we wanted or for 11 people to sit at one table. That said we could get CRT - HMMMM

I don't know why LeCellier is telling people that. We just made an ADR there for 3 weeks from now. I've also talked with people who made ADRs there this week as well, and had a choice of times.

I agree. Just got back and was so glad we had ADR's. They were turning people away at almost every restaurant we were at, not just character meals either. Even the ones where they were accepting walk-ups were 2 hour waits. That's a long time to wait when you're hungry!

I think this system rewards planners.. since I am a huge planner it is fine with me but I do feel sorry for those first timmers who are unaware that Disney makes adr's 180 days in advance!

We were there last week and it seemed the only places you could get into were the resort TS. We were at several (canada, Italy and resturauntasourus?) and everyone was turned away for that day.

We're going to be at WDW in three weeks. In November, I made one ADR for each day of our stay. We're a party of six this trip (immediately family plus Grandma). I don't want to overly schedule, but I do want to make sure that we have a place to have a nice sit down meal (lunch or dinner) each day. Knowing me, I'd probably have made at least one a day if were just DW and me, but finding tables for more than groups of 4 can be a challenge.

This is my first time to Disneyworld in years, I don't think ADR's were even around when I went last and I was 6 so I certainly didn't do any of the planning. Thank God for these boards or else I wouldn't have known to make ADR's and I'd be so angry when I got there because I like to eat nice meals while on vacation. I agree though, if I wasn't a big planner I might not have even found these boards then I would be totally out of luck!
