Cast: Me, Beth, a 20 year old Disney fanatic, I love the 100 Acre Wood characters and Mickey; college student who is just happy to be out of school for awhile!, 8th trip to WDW
Saverio, 23, my boyfriend of (almost) 3 years, more of a WDW fanatic than a Disney fanatic, loves Tigger and Timon, just happy to be going to WDW, 5th trip to WDW
Saverio and I first took a trip to WDW in January 1999. We fell in love with WDW and are now taking our fifth trip there together. Our 3rd anniversary is June 20 and we planned this trip to celebrate it. Actually, Saverio surprised me with a weekend trip last year to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, and we bought annual passes knowing we'd be back in January 2001. Well, we can't just let our passes expire, so we decided to do another anniversary trip!!
We originally started planning our trip in February after reading about those great Animal Kingdom Lodge upsell rates (thanks Mikamouse!). After 4 or 5 calls, we finally snagged one. We planned to go May 10-14, Savannah view room in AKL. Started school and discovered that I had a final and a big project due on May 10. Switched our reservations to June 4-10. Still AKL savannah view.
Flash forward to us having breakfast sometime in mid-March. We're discussing WDW (of course!) and Saverio says, "Hey, we might as well add June 2 and 3 to our trip if we're going anyway." I love this guy!!! We get home and I call Disney. We decided to stay in All Star Movies to save a little $$ and to try out the All Stars. Then I find out about the $65 dollar AS rate. Change Movies to Music. Then, a couple of months later, call asking about June AP rates and get offered Caribbean Beach for $99. Book it, then call the next day and am offered Polynesian garden view concierge for $226. As part of my present, Saverio is paying for the hotel upgrade. I am very excited, because the Polynesian is my dream resort! Saverio is very excited about the whole concierge thing.
Did lots of trip planning on the web, mostly the DIS and Deb's site. Got lots of valuable info and printed out tons of stuff. Ordered the new PassPorter and wrote all over it. What a wonderful guidebook. In fact, it's the only one I'm actually bringing with us. Did lots of pre trip shopping. Got lime green ribbon, squeeze breeze, some new clothes, and some other assorted things. I just love shopping for my WDW trips!!
This is our itinerary, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to post. We're leaving Saturday, but I'll definitely be doing a lot of DISing Friday! I will post a report when I return.
