We woke up EARLY today, it's early entry day at the MK!! Hopped on the bus and got to the MK at around 7:35am. Headed straight for Tomorrowland. Rode Buzz 2x. Got my butt kicked 2x.
We then decided that we would ride Space Mountain and then come back and do Buzz.
Space Mountain had a posted 10 minute wait, not bad, especially at this time of year, so we decided to wait. Well, the wait turned out to be more like a 30 minute wait and now early entry time was over.
By the time we got over to Buzz again, the wait was already 30 minutes! No thanks. We decided to head over to Fantasyland and do Snow White, since we hadn't seen yet this trip. We rode it with a 5 minute wait. Cute, as usual.
It was about 9am (a little bit past), so we decided to head over to Frontierland to do Splash Mountain. My boyfriend got fastpasses while I stood in the standby line. We only had a 10 minute wait. We got SOAKED on the big drop!
We got fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and then jumped in the fastpass return line for Splash Mountain. We got pretty wet, but not too bad. It felt good in the Florida sunshine.
It wasn't quite time for our BTMRR fastpass, so we took a stroll over to Adventureland. We went on the Jungle Cruise, with no wait. Our skipper was very funny, besides the typical "backside of water" jokes, etc. he was very deadpan, which we like. *Now* it was time for BTMRR! We used our fastpasses, but still had to wait about 5-10 minutes. We enjoyed our ride.
After that, we took the WDW railroad to Mickey's Toontown Fair. We wanted to maybe ride the Barnstormer, but after noticing that the posted wait time was 30 minutes, we decided against it. Maybe when we have kids, but definitely not now! We walked over to the character greeting area to see who was around, but there were no "good" characters, so we didn't get in any of the lines.
My poor boyfriend was STARVING and I was getting hungry as well, so we went to Casey's and got hot dogs and a coke. ($8.53) The hot dogs were soooo good! Casey's totally has the best hot dogs in WDW! After lunch, we browsed the Emporium. I got a MK postcard, a Mickey pen, and a very cute Winnie the Pooh sea themed picture frame. ($26.24) We had the purchase sent to the hotel. By this time it was POURING out, so we donned our ponchos and braved the weather. Dodging through puddles and skipping over mini rivers, we finally made it to the bus stop. Luckily, there was a bus waiting when we got there. We took off our dripping ponchos and were so happy to be on the nice, dry bus!
We (stupidly) thought that the AK would have emptied out due to the rain, so we didn't even go back to the room, we just hopped on the AK bus that happened to be waiting at the bus stop. At first, it seemed like a good choice. What seemed like HUNDREDS of people were streaming out of the park as we were entering. Turns out it must have been a very busy day at the AK because there were plenty of crowds still left! We checked the tip board and it said the wait for It's Tough to be a Bug was 40min and Dinosaur was 20min. We decided to get a fastpass for ITTBAB and ride standby for Dinosaur. We got our fastpasses for ITTBAB and then headed over to Dinoland. The posted wait for Dinosaur now said 40 minutes!!! Either hundreds of people just now ran over to the ride, or the tip board was wrong.
We decided not to ride.
We just walked around AK for awhile. Tried to find the secret path, but failed miserably. What am I doing wrong? I can NEVER find it!!! We were a little hungry, so we were also looking for something to eat. On our past trip in January, we saw a grill set up and a woman grilling big, juicy hot dogs and selling them. We tried to find it again, but couldn't. My boyfriend was seriously bummed out. Has anyone ever seen this before? We only saw it the one time and never any time after that. We decided to go to Tusker House. I almost got the kid's rainbow PBJ because it looked so cool, but then we spotted the beef stew in a bread bowl. We decided to split that. ($8.46) It was really, really good!! We definitely have to try it again sometime.
After we were done eating, we walked back toward ITTBAB. We stopped off at a shop and picked up 3 cute AK postcards ($3.18) We also went to Pizzafari to check out all of the cute themed rooms. There is nothing I really like on the menu, but it's definitely worth a look. Very cute. Did ITTBAB. We just missed a show and had to wait through a whole show before we were let in. After that, we decided to leave. Upon entering the park, we'd gotten our picture taken by one of the photographers. We went and checked it out, but didn't buy it. It really didn't look that great.
Went to the bus stop to catch the bus. Just missed one, so we waited a few minutes for the next. I did some shopping at Zawadi Marketplace while my boyfriend went up to the room. I got a photo album, a "Tigger, is that you?" mug, a Pooh pen, and a Twix bar (for my boyfriend). Total cost: $35.93. Dragged my purchases to the room and then collapsed on the bed and watched some TV. We eventually showered and made our way downstairs to Jiko for dinner. There was some mix-up with my PS and they told me that it wasn't showing in their computer. I was a little bit annoyed, as I didn't want to end up with the $10 per person fee for not showing up. (Turns out they eventually found it.)
We were seated immediately. Our meal was terrific. We really enjoyed the food and totally stuffed ourselves. [A full review is on the restaurant board.] The cost with tip was $92. We had planned to go shopping at Downtown Disney, but were almost too full to walk around!! We decided to go anyway. While we were on the bus, it started raining. Great, we left the ponchos in the room.
Went over to World of Disney. Surprisingly, I couldn't find much that I wanted, but managed an Eeyore pen, a Minnie pen, a WDW freezer mug, a WDW shirt, Eeyore socks, and a picture frame magnet. ($53.43 with DC discount) Not all of it was for me, some were gifts.
It was POURING out now. We were too cheap to buy more ponchos or an umbrella, so we decided to just RUN from store to store.
We first ran over to the Lego store, then sprinted over to the toy store, then Team Disney, then the Pooh store, and then Gourmet Pantry. I bought a striped Pooh apron for my mom in the Gourmet Pantry ($21.20). We wanted a chocolate covered frozen banana from Ghiradelli's, but were still way too full from dinner, so we decided to leave. We had a LONG wait for the bus. We easily waited over 20-25 minutes. We eventually got back to the AKL and went to bed.
