I am bringing my two year old granddaughter and her mother to Disney World for their first time....We are flying...I brought all of my other grandchildren to Disney World when they were past the diaper wearing age...which brings me to this question...What if my granddaughter dirties her diaper (and I don't mean just "wet" ) while on the plane? How on earth does one change a diaper in such a small bathroom? I have trouble just turning around in there myself...:rolleyes1 What do these mothers do when that happens?

I'll take that bet...

Something to keep in mind though, there's going to be a time right after take off and right before landing that you're not going to be allowed to leave your seat. When my DD was potty training, she decided while the plane was taxiing she needed to "go". I had to ask the flight attendant for permission and she had to tell the captain (fortunately is was a quick "go", and we got back to our seats before we got to the runway).

If she's sitting down for the flight chances are she won't do what you are afraid of. If it does happen, just ask a flight attendant where you should change her. I took both my kids on flights when they were in diapers and we never had to change a "dirty" one because they were sitting down. Plus, kids go when they are comfortable with their surroundings, and a strange airplane isn't one of those places.

The real issue is when they ARE potty trained. It's hard to get 2 people in there. Plus when the look old enough (around 4 or 5), they might not let you in with them! They did that to me once with my older DD.

You were right! Lots of good answers...I will pass this along to my granddaughter's mother! This is going to be a different kind of Disney trip for me...but, I am looking forward to it...!!!!:goodvibes:lmao:

You change a diaper, dirty or wet, in the bathroom. Planes have changing tables. Generally not every single bathroom on the plane, but for 90% of planes, at least one will have a changing table. Go to that bathroom. Use the changing table and change the diaper there. Dump the poop in the toilet and then wrap the diaper in a ziplock bag or other bag and dispose of it. Do NOT toss it in the garbage without wrapping it in something first.

If for some reason you get on a tiny regional carrier or the one plane in the fleet that does NOT have a changing table then change the baby standing up. Practice now.

Under NO circumstances do you change the baby in the seat.

Have a great trip.

Set your child on the closed toilet seat with your own body partly outside the open bathroom door.

Have you thought of using those pull-up diapers? I had to do several standing up changes when my DD was little. The biggest challenge is whether the child is co-operative so I agree with the PP, it is a good idea to practice now so that you are both familiar with the process. You'll be just fine and probably won't even need to change her. :)

I can't begin to express my appreciation to all of you who responded to my question...It was like I bolted up in bed in the middle of the night...worrying about the "Poo-diaper" issue while riding on a plane....:scared1:

You came to my rescue! Thank You...Thank You...
