What have you found to be the best and worst section of each hotel you've stayed at?

We've only stayed at the ASSports in Baseball. IMHO it was the best section. Far away from the main building but that also means far away from the traffic. Plus we had the smaller pool which was almost always empty. It was like having a private pool to ourselves. Basketball seemed like the worst, far away from the main building and no pool close by.

We stayed at ASMo in the Woody building, backside and I loved it!
Like you said, the closer buildings, walkway side get a lot of foot traffic.
I wouldn't want a room at CSR in the Ranchos section. Other than that, I think any section there would be good. :)
I just booked ASMu, preferred section (Calypso) for the extra $10 a night. I said I wasn't going to do that. But we will only be there three nights. If ASMu was more laid out like ASMo, I still wouldn't have.
Looks like a bowling alley lay out from the map I have and I wouldn't have been happy in the Country Fair section, and didn't want to take the chance.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Fun question.

I like Cabanas at Coronado. I believe the main reason is because I like the white sand beach views and it's close to the dig site pool. Casitas seems too busy because it's close to the main area. Haven't tried Ranchos...I think I would like it though.

CBR - we like Trinidad South - I know it's far away but believe it or not that's one of the draws for me. We don't really like being close to a main area - like it a little mjore private.

Contemporary - only stayed in North wing. Loved it.

Grand floridian - only stayed in Sago Cay. We had a nice marina view.

the other resorts we've stayed at are YC and BC which is our favorite and there aren't really sections. We do get a waterview though so we can look at beautiful Crescent Lake.

The front of the Woody building at ASMo, unless you want to be woken up at 7 a.m. by small children laughing and screaming outside your window, don't do it. We were in the first floor corner room next to Woody and we used children as our alarm clock!

We really haven't had the misfortune of getting in a worst area as we haven't had the opportunity to stay onsite, but one I know I would dislike would be any room where when I opened my sliding glass doors I could smell the meat being smoked for the Whispering Canyon Cafe, or hear the antics coming from there.

I have 2 favorites so far:

the Contemporary, for the spacious rooms, bright and energetic colors, convenience, and our particular view of Bay Lake from the South Garden Wing.

PO-R Alligator Bayou bldg 14, for the convenience, quiet, peaceful surroundings and romantic setting.

We will be trying PO-FQ this fall, so I hope to add that one, as well!

The worst, in my estimation, although no one else in my party agrees with me, was WL. Although I thought that the pool and the lobby were gorgeous, and the staff went out of their way to make everything magical, I just wasn't happy with the rooms. They were small, cramped and dark.

CBR, I love the theming, the colors in the rooms, the pool, the pool bar and everything else, with the exception of where our room location was... Barbados bldg 16... the other end of the world...except for maybe Trinidad South!

We got what we figured was the worst room at the GF about 10 years ago. Back then, many of the top-floor rooms were "attick" rooms, which were a little smaller (and cheaper). We were on the top floor (small room) of Sago Cay. Our room faced out away from the resort. And it was just before the point where the building juts out at the lobby. So our view to that side was limitted by the building. Maybe if you are past that, you can catch a view of part of the MK ... I don't know. But all we could see was the convention building, the parking lot, a small bit of monorail track, and a tiny 10 ft wide marshy area of the lagoon. Must be the worst view at the resort....

But of course, we had a great time!

For me the worst room we got was at ASSp. We were in the football building in a room facing the field. It was great location ie. near food court and buses but Even though there are signs saying that the field was closed there was ALWAYS noisy people out there playing and talking while we were trying to sleep. We also had a hard time dodging footballs when we would try to make it to and from our room. My 14mth DD wasn't so lucky one night. She got hit right in the head. Needless to say we will NEVER stay at Sports again!!!!!

Our fav. building is Trinidad North #32 at CBR, because it's the only 3-building village there, so it's quieter, and it's close to OPR.
Least favorite is Barbados because it's so far away from OPR, it's probably a long-distance phone call!
