sorry, know this has been asked and answered at least a hundred times but i can not get the search to work...

forget character interaction, location ,price ,everything else...

and tell me in your opinion,
which character meal has the best food
and which is awful food you wouldn't take home even to Rover

thanks

I will preface this by saying we have never had a bad character meal.

But in my opinion, the best food I've had for breakfast would be 1900 Park Fare.

And the best dinner would be Liberty Tree Tavern. We love it.

And the ONLY negative I can say about any of the food is this: The last time we had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table, they gave my youngest DD (she was 18 months at the time) some French Toast Sticks, and they were kind of hard on the ends. The "regular" food was excellent.

We love Chef Mickey's....only for the character breakfast though, we always go, we love it so much that the last time we decided to try it for dinner...BLAH!!!!

Our least favorite character meal was Crystal Palace for lunch....YUCKKKKKK!!!!!

LTT, I can defrost better food! (And I can warm it up, they seem to have missed that part when we were there!)

Here are our experiences, based on 1 (wouldn't give it to Rover!) to 10 (I'll never eat anyplace else, ever again!!)...

Chef Mickey's.....8 (a family 1st day tradition..good characters, bit of a zoo)

1900 Park Fare....8 (good food, decent characters)

Crystal Palace....9 (dh loves it here, we all love the food choices, good characters)

LTT...7 (food is nothing to write home about, great atmosphere)

CRT...6 (breakfast is mediocre, castle is gorgeous, overpriced now)

Cape May (Goofy's Breakfast)....9 (great characters, not so much a zoo, food is good)

Donald's Breakfastasaurus....8 (food is good, characters good, a bit of a zoo)

Garden Grill....8 (haven't done it since before the first change but liked everything about it...food, characters, atmosphere)

I believe 'Ohana is the only character breakfast we have never done. Maybe next time. But, I can honestly say we have never had a 'bad' character meal...at least yet!!

The worst for Breakfast is easy - Cinderella's Castle - Way way over priced. The food was very average. The Polynesian, Chrystal Palase, Chef Mickeys, Cape May were all very good. Lunch and Dinner at the castle are usually pretty good, but there normally aren't many characters. The Land Dinner was very good also and lots of characters, but it's been 7 years since we ate there.

The only character breakfasts I have done (so far.. this will change next week on our trip!! :D) are Crystal Palace & Hollywood and Vine. Crystal Palace has excellent food.. couldn't ask for better. Hollywood and Vine was great too but they don't do character breakfasts anymore, unfortunately. It was awesome though - all the characters put on music and were dancing around. It was great! They should bring it back.

Next week the character meals we're having are at Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, Liberty Tree Tavern, Donald's Breakfastasauras, and Gulliver's Grill and I will have reviews! :)

We booked chef Mickey's for dinner for our two boys. our 8 year old won't care about the character meals but our 4 year old will love it. Should we change to something else? I doubt we will have much choices since we are leaving in less than a month! What has the best food/characters? I don't think our boys care about princesses so the castle is probably out of the question.

Best character meal, hands down, CRT... in fact this was one of our favorite lunches the entire trip

Worst.. breakfastasaurus....

Don't worry about not getting a good restaurant cause it's only a month til your trip. My trip was impromptu, I finished my ADR's like a week ago (i'm leaving April 1) and got everything I wanted except CRT, which I wasn't expecting anyway. As for dinner, if your kids like the Lion King I suggest Gulliver's Grill at the Swan resort. Rafiki & Timon are there! :) Along with Goofy and Pluto, I think. We are also trying LTT. Good luck! :groom:

Best food-1900 Park Faire (DH)
--Akershus lunch or dinner (DD8)
--Crystal Palace lunch or 1900 (me)

Worst food-LTT (all)

Oh no! We're doing some that are rated low. (Donald's, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and CRT) Eeek!!! I know my kids will love the characters though so I'll just deal. LOL!!

Definitely get calling...I called today to get some ressies for our May trip and the best time I could get is 7:50pm for Chef Mickey's which is far too late for my DDs.

I thought the food at LTT and Chef Mickey's was average when we went in Sept., however we are going back to Chef Mickey's in May :)

I wouldn't worry too much about that. I have seen a ton of positive reviews on CM's and CP. Everybody has different tastes, so what one person may hate, you may love.

I'll say our best, by far, was LTT. Great food, prepared well. The worst for us was Ohana. Stale breakfast food that was barely edible.

We have done all the character meals except CRT (no way am I getting up before 4 am to make dining reservations!).

The best: Crystal Palace and Cape May Cafe for breakfast
The worst: 1900 Park Fare for dinner

Hit or Miss: Chef Mickey's dinner...sometimes it is great, sometimes it is just blah, but we like the atmosphere and overlook the food on the blah nights
