We are taking our daughters to WL for Christmas (Dec. 8-14), their ages are 2 and 4. We would love to stay in a room that possibly offers a view of MK fireworks or water electrical parade. Has anyone stayed there and knows of a woodview room that will offer that view? Any help/info on the WL would be appreciated. This is only the second time we have stayed on Disney property (last time CBR) and want to make the best of our vacation before we ship off to Japan for military re-assignment. Thanks!

I don't know if you can see the water parade, but my husband and I were given a woods view room with a perfect view of the MK fireworks for our 1-year anniversary. It was in the wing on the left hand side (aahh!! don't know which direction that is...) facing the pool/lake. We were on the level right below concierge. I wish I could remember the room #, but I just can't. It was wonderful - we stood out on our balcony with a glass of champagne - no crowds, no noise....

Good luck!!!

OK, those were moronic directions. I meant that the room was in the wing that will be on the left side of the hotel as YOU are facing the pool/lake in the lobby. You will have to pass Artist Point and Roaring Forks to get to the rooms in that wing, in other words. Sorry - hope this makes more sense.

Thanks for the tip! How long ago were you there? Did you have any trouble with the transportation as others have reported?

We were just at WL a few weeks ago. We had the "last" woods view room on the MK side in the corner of the lobby, behind the fireplace, I think it was 5081 (the first part of the wing on the MK side is standard view because it's over the service area). We were on the 5th floor and could see the fireworks from our balcony. Judging from the view we had, I would think the fireworks would be visible from just about anywhere on the MK side of the resort, 5th floor and up (possibly 4th floor, too). Note that you can't see the MK, just the fireworks over the trees. For a room request, I would think if you ask for MK side on an upper floor, you should probably be able to see fireworks.

Of course, if you're on the MK side, you can't see the water pageant from your room. There is an observation deck on the 5th floor off the lobby with a spectacular view, though!

We had no transportation problems, but did not take the busses (we were traveling with 2yo DS). We used the boat to MK several times, and never had to wait (we were just lucky). The boat does stop at FW also, though, so your trip to/from MK can be a bit long (15-20 minutes) if you end up with that stop, but your view of the resorts around Bay Lake is great, so I didn't mind the time.

Thanks for the info Chancellor! The WL sounds like a wonderful place to stay and we are really looking forward to it. I will be sure to ask for a room on the MK side on the 5th floor.

GO GATORS!!! Should be a good game this weekend against Miami!

I'm sure that you've already seen this, but if you haven't, take a read through the WL FAQ thread on this board. It's got so much great info! We'll be there with our two kids Dec 5-8 and it's been so helpful. Happy holidays! :D

No problem, ufalum (I just figured out what your name means). Be sure to ask for 5th floor or higher , as I'm sure the upper floors have just as good, if not better, views of the fireworks, and you have a better opportunity of getting your request if there's more rooms in the mix. I also noticed you're going in early December, which would hopefully have lower crowds and increase your odds of getting your room request. But don't worry, the resort is so nice that you'll have a great time no matter where your room is.

I'm already biting my nails over the football game. At the risk of being shunned from these boards, let's not forget that Florida has a few more things to offer than WDW (and football fans down here are as insane as the Disney nuts who visit this website!:p )

P.S. - the WL FAQ is very good, but it's LOOOOOONNNNG, so it's hard to find just what you're looking for. 999ghsts is a CM who works at the WL and answers questions at that FAQ, and she's extremely helpful.
