Best Wines at WDW

Ok, we have a res at Jiko in Sept...can someone enlighten me about the Chocolate Block? Thanks!

This past feb I had a chardonnay called "Imagine" and really liked it. It was one of the piared wines iwth my dinner at citiricos, then later I had a glass a the tune in lounge. Evidently with was made special for WDW by chalk Hill Winery. Expensive by the glass ($11) but good.

And not really on the wine list, don't forget the Grand Marier Slushies in Epcot. Our favorite!

Chalk Hilll...nice!

Where would one find a Grand Manier slushie at Epcot?? Do tell!!

I don't remember a lot of details but its a red blend (Syrah and ?) I had a glass at the bar and liked it so much I had another at the table. It went well with the Lamb patis and the filet.

You might imagine it would be sweet with chocolate in the name but it's not. Think more like the "dark" in dark chocolate. Tasted lush without being too pricey.

Cake bread chard is so good! I am going to try the choclate block in June.

I just loooove Rosa Regale. We first tried this in EPCOT and have been hooked. DH and I even asked Disney to provide it as our DH & I's first toast drink. It is a yummy sweet red sparkling wine made by Banfi. I even managed to find it locally for $20 a bottle! Also the grand marnier slushies are to die for on a hot day- not wine but still to die for:rotfl:

I was soooo excited when I found out the NH State Liquor outlet stores sold Rosa for $18. :rotfl: :rotfl: BF & I each bought a bottle. We had a friend try some and the friend isn't even a wine drinker but had 1/2 a glass and asked us to pick him up a bottle too. Sooooo good.

I'm excited to try different ones when we're there. I read some reviews of the Chocolate Block online and they're all positive too. BF loves lamb so I suspect he'll be ordering that lambi patis at Jiko when we go.

Oooh the Lamb at Jiko is very good and I imagine it would pair well with the Chocolate block from what I am hearing. $18 for Rosa- that is not a bad deal!!!

Caymus, but I'm not sure where we had it (California Grill? - I know we've ordered it on DCL). But it isn't a cheap bottle.

Ohhh, Caymus is a great one!! We love it, but it is $$$$

If you like Cab Sauv, I think if it is out of Oakville (CA) it is pretty good. Those of you from CA can let me know if you agree.... (I'm still learning my CA reds) We splurged and had a plump jack at the Napa Rose at DLR. It was so overpriced, but yummy. :goodvibes It was a special occasion, so that makes it OK.:rotfl: I wonder if they carry that at WDW?

I had a fantastic Merlot at Hollywood Brown Derby last year from Coppola Vineyards. Loved it so much, I had a bottle sent to my parent's table when they went a month later.

The Coppola Wines are very good. I have yet to drink one I don't like. Mr. Francis Ford Coppola does a good job. We actually visited the winery when we were living in CA and we have a picture of DS who at the time was 18 months with Mr. Coppola himself. It's an awesome picture.

I don't know what wines they have at WDW since I've never had time for a nice meal there. We are having dinner at Narcoossee's on our next trip here in a few weeks. It's pretty sad when you can walk into a liquor store or a restaurant and look at the wines/wine menu and say, "I've been to that winery, I've tried that wine." :drinking1

I ordered "a glass of white zinfandel". I have no idea what kind it was but it was the best glass of wine that I have ever had. When we paid for it we learned that the "best glass of wine ever" cost $8.00. That was when most wine, at least the kind that I drink, cost about $3 to $4. DH still kids me about that.

That is steep for a white zin. It is one of the lower priced wines but very popular. Be thankful you enjoy it! I was fine with a few beers or a box of Fetzer $5/gallon wine. Then some friends gave me some mid to high end wines. I really wish they wouldnt have done that. I don't have as many Disney dollars left!

I can't wait. :)

Yeah, we were pretty psyched about that. I know of another place locally that sells it for about $24, so I guess if the Outlet ever runs out. lol. We've become obsessed with it. It just goes so well with...everything.

Another Rosa Regale fan here. We buy it all the time, in fact we have a bottle at the house now. MMMM Good!

Artist Point and Yachtsmans Steakhouse both have great wine menus and the servers are a great help. We also enjoy walking around EPCOT and experiencing diff wines from diff countries. We do this every time. It's great to be able to walk around with your wine in your hand. Fun! Have a great time.

Rock Block Syrah at Artist Point. It's the best! A bit pricey (somewhere near $100 a bottle) but it's wonderful.
