I was wondering if anyone has stayed at the BW Stovall's recently and if they could share their experience/thoughts. I usually stay at the BWPPI or the BW Anaheim but both are booked the first day of our trip. I'm also wondering what the walk time to the park is and what route you took. TIA

Its a doable walk but feels very long after all day in the parks or if you like to take a break mid day. You walk down disneyland drive then just cut through the Grand CA. They do have the ART stop right in front though if you like that route.

From what I was looking at on Google maps, would it be quicker to go to DTD and take the monorail? Looked like that would be about a 10 min walk, but I'm just guessing. How was the hotel in general?

Yes, that would be the best bet to jump on the monorail if you want to go DL first. Yes I would say 10-12min is about right. The hotel is nice since the rooms are newly remodled and free breakfast is always a plus for us although nothing special. On another note if walking back after the parks close it doesn't feel as safe as walking on Harbor.

Since we'll only be there one night, I think we'll be okay. Thanks for all the information!

We have stayed there. We enjoyed our stay there & would stay again. Rooms were clean & not a bad size,. We really liked the pool area. And we passed on breakfast a couple of mornings as the breakfast room was REALLY busy. As the PP stated...it is about a 10-12 min walk. It is a nice walk though! The sidewalks are lined with bushes & palm trees (which are lit up at night) & I liked cutting through the Grand Californian. It seemed to break the walk up a bit?

Stayed there before a handful of times and have always had a good experience. It's definitely a value hotel and not the GCH, but for the price and location it's good.

Agree with this! We didn't find it bad walking back to the hotel after dark, it was actually nice and relaxing since there weren't as many people.

The one and only problem is with cutting through the GC... now we want to stay there soooo badly.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I'm definitely going to book it for our first night but I'm keeping my other res for BW Anaheim for my other nights just in case. Plus BW Anaheim is closer. But if we find it doable I'll have another off site property to add to my list of places to stay.

We just spend 10 nights there last month and we won't be back. The rooms are nice and roomy and the housekeeping is really great, but the rooms are LOUD. Paper thin walls and kids run up and down the breezeways beginning at about 6 AM screaming their little heads off, each and every day. That, coupled with the long walk (no, it's not horrible but when staying as many nights as we did, it gets very old), we'd rather just pay a bit more and stay closer. Sorry to be the dissenting vote.

We spent 3 nights there this past Thanksgiving weekend, we took a mid day break daily and used our feet as transportation. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if the price was right.

*We enjoyed the walk, it was peaceful *pretty at night* cutting through the Grand is lovely too.

We just returned from staying there for the Tinkerbell 1/2. It was a great location for adult walkers. You have 2 (3 if you count the parking lot entrances which are sometimes closed off) crosswalks you have to wait for, which can add time. We walked thru GCH as well. It was a great hotel for our race since the start & finish was so close. The housekeeping did a great job and all the rooms have recently been redone with bedding etc. however, it is still and old motel and we had some issues with traffic noise and next door noise. The walls are thin! My other big complaint was the Internet. It was a pain getting connected. We had to move rooms because they had us at the end, and it wouldn't connect until I walked towards the lobby. Then, even in our closer (& louder room) it would regularly drop connection and i was unable to use FaceTime and Skype. The breakfast was very basic, but a piece of peanut butter toast and coffee in the morning sure was a nice way to kick off the day. :).

Thanks for sharing the not so great aspects as well. I definitely like knowing about the possible "bad" things to expect. I did end up booking it for our first night and kept the res for BW Anaheim for the rest of the trip. We'll have a car so moving isn't that big of deal. The thin walls may get to me, so I'm glad for the heads up on that. I may even tell DM to bring her earplugs! lol
