Hi,

Going to Disney March 30, 2015. Will be myself with DD and her boyfriend. Need some privacy so thought about Desert Inn as they have a room that is separate. Which hotel is closer to the park entrance? Which one would you recommend? Thanks for your advice.

If it's privacy you want pick a suite at the Desert Inn. BWPPI mini suites are just longer rooms with a small waist high partial partition wall between the two beds and the sofa bed.

Do you want to sleep on hard beds? If so pick the desert inn. I would say everything else was good but the beds have turned us off. We will at least look around before we go next time. I wills ay I was so sleepy I didnt notice till the last two nights however my son even said the beds were so hard.

The stay was nice. I liked the bigger fridge, the microwave and hot water pressure all worked good. Don't try and check in early they will lie to you and say sure and tell you 1pm, 2 pm, 2:30 pm but it wont be till 3:10 or so before there ppl calls saying the rooms are clean upstairs.
I think the need to hire a few more people to clean rooms and stop talking on the p[hones so much.

That's just my two cents I am thinking of seeing about the BWPP next time, Del sol, or Anaheim plaza inn. Heck even the beds at quality inn were not as hard.

We stayed at Desert Inn & Suites for half marathon weekend. DH and I shared a two bed two bath suite with my parents. It was fantastic for space and privacy, and we had no real issues with the hotel itself. It's nothing fancy for sure, but it was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

As far as which is closer to the entrance, they're both so close, I don't think it really matters. I would just go with whichever one best suits your needs.

We do not like hard beds either.

We have stayed at the DI&S three times in the last couple of years.
Each time we have had a different room.

We don't feel the beds are hard. In fact we love their beds. You don't have too toss or turn to find a comfortable spot. It's just like sleeping on our bed at home.

As far as privacy, like I mentioned in one of your other threads about rooms. DI&S has many room options. The sooner you book the better the rate will be.

I didn't see the hard beds comment. I will echo that none of the 4 of us had any problem with the beds at DI&S, and slept very comfortably.

I am currently typing this while laying in a bed at the Desert Inn and Suite and will confirm it's hard as a rock and not very comfortable. However, I love it here! I normally stay at the DLH and decided to go easy on funds this time, this hotel a great pick! So close! Closer than DLH it seems, though I would kill for one of their beds right now!!

We stayed at the desert inn in Sept. We loved the parlor suite. The separate living room was perfect for relaxing and watching tv after the kids went to sleep, or if some of us wanted to nap during breaks. The beds were fine in the bedroom. We never did try out the pull out bed, but id assume it would be uncomfortable because pull outs always are. That's something to consider if you plan on using it.

guess that's all a matter of perception the beds in room 202 were super hard. It doesn't mean we wont stay again we did like being close but the OP was asking so i was telling her what my family felt and the beds were hard to us.

guess that's all a matter of perception

This is absolutely correct. From the number of 'hard bed' reviews I read for hotels in the US, I'm going to assume that as a region, people in the US prefer your beds softer. DH and I spend a lot of time in Asia and as a region, they seem to prefer their beds harder, so maybe we're just used to it.

It's also about priorities. If the OP wants a suite that will give her and her DD and BF the maximum amount of privacy, allowing them to have fully separate rooms, then the Desert Inn & Suites is her best bet. If she is more concerned about comfortable beds, and finds hard beds very uncomfortable, then perhaps she should look elsewhere.

3pm is the standard check in time at the Desert Inn. However, they do have lockers available to store luggage (will also put it in their office if suitcase too large to fit in the locker). You can do this both prior to check-in and after check-out so that you can extend your time in the area. We did this.

Also we arrived at the Desert Inn about 9.30am after a flight from Australia - I was feeling very unwell. The person on duty said I was welcome to rest up on the couches in the lobby. Did this for a bit then went for a walk got a drink and some food. Returned to the lobby feeling unwell still. I heard my name called and he told me that he had a room for me. It was only 12pm!! I didn't think the staff were on the phone too much and they looked after me very well. I think if you have a genuine need for a room early (as he could clearly see in my case) they would do what they can to help out. Early check in is only done when they have rooms available at all hotels.

After a few nights I did find the beds a little hard, but overall I would stay here again. Friends who stayed in two different hotels BWPPI & Ramada Maingate recently saw my holiday pics and both commented on how large and great our room looked at the Desert Inn (We had a Parlour Suite).

Glad to hear (some) people like the Desert Inn since we're giving it a shot on our next trip (stayed at the Anaheim Plaza our last 4 trips but most recent was not good.) We have a Tempurpedic bed at home so I've NEVER really liked a hotel bed.

Have not stayed at the BWPPI but liked everything about DI&S but the beds. They are the second hardest beds in a hotel I have stayed in. The first was not in Anaheim

We drive and I seriously contemplated going to Target to buy a cheap mattress pad.

LOL we to liked everything about desert inn but the beds. Sure the check in was pain but once in the room we were in love with the room it self. That is funny about the mattress pad I actually thought about that same thing. I don't know why desert inn's beds are so hard when other hotels are softer in the same area.
