I need your help. I have a choice of staying either in the Best Western Park Place Innor the Desert Inn & Suites. Both prices are the same just one has a seperate parlor and one has only a partition. I've stayed at the Desert Inn so I know what that's like and how close it is. I've never stayed at the Best Western but have read good things. Your opinions please.

If you can handle not having the completely seperate parlor, I much preferred the Best Western Park Place Inn. The room was just more interesting, nicely decorated and fresh. Desert Inn was fine but BWPPI was better. BUT if you really want that parlor that closes off it would be fine to use the Desert Inn.

I'm booked at the Best Western Park Place Inn for my honeymoon in September! I've stayed there before and we really love it! I don't know how particular you are about having a seperate parlor, but the size of the rooms are decent and the rooms are clean at BWPPI. You get vouchers for breakfast for however many people are staying in the room for however many days (bagels, toast, danish, coffee, juice etc.), the parking is free (some hotels charge for you to park on their lot), and it is litterally RIGHT across the street from the walkway to the parks. It is right at the cross walk on Harbor were you see the massive groups of people crossing the street.

I totally agree with Dannzzz! I've stayed at both and prefer PPI. The rooms are nice sized, lots of storage and the pool's outside!! Desert Inn it's inside! We've stayed at PPI twice, Desert once.

Now, I did have a HUGE problem with the rudest person I"ve EVER encountered at a front desk before, when we stayed at PPI in July, but the next day the Front desk manager cleared it up promptly and quickly. But, this girl was HORRIBLE!! I still have her name written down, for any future trips to PPI! LOL

We really like it there!

dsnylndmom- I think I know who you might be talking about. Was she a pooh size lady with kind of long blonde hair. Now, before anyone gets mad at me for calling her that I'm no piglet size myself...so I figure this is a nice way of saying it. If this is the woman we also saw her get into a tiff with our favorite employees there Marci and Jeff. We just ignore her.

Al's Jasmine-you get a voucher to eat where? I just assumed that it was a little dining room on property. Seems like it's a restaurant.

Anyone know if there's self serve laundry there. Like wash your own not send it out.

There is a restaurant right next door. The breakfast room is on the top floor of the restaurant.

Thanks FireFly, Sorry was a little unclear. The vouchers are for the breakfast they serve in the next door restaurant's upstairs area. You will need these to get the free continental breakfast (and they give them to you upon check-in)

I haven't checked yet, but I think there are onsite laudry facilities. I'll check again.

Is it a regular restaurant with waiters where you have to tip them...or is it kind of like the Holiday inn breakfast room where it's serve yourself. Where are you checking to see if there are laundry facilities. I'm been trying to hunt for it. Thanks!!!

Sorry for the late reply! The restaurant itself has waiters. But when you have their complimentary breakfast (which is held in the second level of the restaurant) it is serve yourself with plenty of tables to sit at (so you don't have to bring food back to your room).

I thought expedia would tell me if the place had laudry facilities but now I'm checking Best Western's website. Any luck with your search? I'm staying 7 days and figured I may need to use this too now that you mention it!

Okay I just looked through best western's website and the info specifically for PPI, and it said guest laundry so I suppose that is the laudry facility for our use! hope that covers that!

lkohawaii, not that wasn't her, she was african american and she was just a bad rude little person!
Oh and the breakfast you serve yourself and just a little note, the will NOT let you take food back to your room.
And you can get the strawberry pancakes downstairs in the regular dining area if you choose.

Al's Jasmine, there is laundry facilities onsite! I saw them in July

Thanks a million you guys. You make my decision even harder now. I called Desert Inn and told them that I've always been loyal to them but their price was the same as Best Western. They gave me $40 off. My friend and I werer debating on where to stay and she needs a smoking hotel so I think after your answers Best Western it will be. The only nice thing about Desert Innis the seperate parlor.

dsnylndmom-wow...it wasn't the lady I thought. That's scary now we could ignore that one woman because the other guys were so nice but now there's someone else.

One more question for those of you who have stayed at BWPPI....is there a t.v. by the parlor section. I know it's not seperate but are there 2 t.V.'s or if there's only1 where is it? Thanks.

There is only one TV in the room. It's in an armoire in front of the beds.

Thanks...I think that makes my decision for me. I need a t.v. in another room because my DH is a night owl and my DS is a light sleeper. My only hope now is that my friend stays at BWPPI and I can beg to go visit.
