So we are booked at HOJO's, but I am really thinking that we need to be closer what with a 5 and almost 4 year old.

Sooo..which do you prefer and why? We'll have a car that we will need to park.

Also, what areas or rooms are better or best in regards to noise and best location..walking to parks wise?

Thanks!
Ruth

edited to add: do you miss the onsite dining..Hojo's has that..the others don't....is there enough in the immediate area so that it doesn't matter?

I just got back from the Desert Inn and I don't think I'll stay there again. It was just a notch or two too dumpy for my personal limits. The service was very good though. I haven't stayed at the BWPPI though so have no basis for comparison. We ate in our room (via vons.com) and in the parks and therefore did not miss onsite dining. I have seen complaints about the parking at Desert Inn but since we flew that wasn't an issue.

We just stayed at the Desert Inn & Suites in Dec. & loved it. The rooms weren't no Hilton, but I wouldn't know, I can't afford to stay at a Hilton anyway! We stayed in a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite & had a "front room w/couch & TV" & the rooms were very spacious. My daughter got the front room - the couch folded out into a bed, my husband & I got our own beds on one side & my parent got their own beds on the other side. We had a frig & microwave too. It was directly across from DL's main entrance. We were at DL from open to close, maybe once a day would stop back to drop off packages or even eat off DL, & it was so easy to come & go. Just stay away from Capt. Kidds - its say buffet & kids eat free - only because the food has sat our for months, seriously!!!

All the trips I have taken to Disneyland recently I have either stayed at the Desert Inn or BWPPI. I prefer the Best Western, just because I feel it's cleaner then the Desert Inn. I don't eat the breakfast they serve at either hotel. I have been to Captain Kidds and I agree that you should run the other way, the food is just not any good. As far as amenities go both hotels are the same as far as their suites are concerned. The Best Western is so close to the park, at the end of the night when you walk back you'll sigh I breath of relief to see the BWPPI right there staring you in the face.

Thanks for this. I was looking for someone who stayed at both. And thank you everyone else for the responses.

With 2 kiddos age 5 and 3.5...I just think we need to be as close as possible.

im going to be staying at desert inn we will try the breakfast and it may be fine but we are also ordering from vons. I am choosing this hotel for the hot tub rooms and the closeness to the park. I think it will be just fine. not fancy but what my wallet can afford. i got an early deal for my oct trip and am paying 99 a night for oct and dec.
