Hi all, I posted this on the Orlando hotels and attractions but didn't get any replies!
I am planning to book POP for Dec 2012, but if when the brochures come out and the price has gone up too much I will have to stay at BWL where we stayed in 07.
Has anyone stayed there recently?
Are the "scheduled" buses still at daft times - ie first bus to a Disney park was about 9.30am! :sad2:

Any info would be great! :)

Go online to check prices as they go up in August and have for years. the 2012 would not be out yet. also in 2012 behind POP is a new value wht atill open called Art of Anitmation...check all disney sites like allears.net/wdwmagic.com/the mouse for less.com/ sign up for mousesavers.com comes one a month free and no junk mail from it. also allears.net has weekly news letter. all will give you specials and alerts. POP Century bus leaves 6 AM if going to say a character breakfast and then every 20 minutes and is best bus service on property. we go at least twice a year and this willbe 58th trip and never had bus problems:confused3 sold our DVC:cheer2: so then went back to deluxe/moderates and values as we not in the rooms that much anyhow stayed also in the Lake Buena Vista area hotels years ago and they nice ones but like on property. :worship:

Hi thanks for the reply. Yes I do know about the new AoA, but as that is also a value then I should think it will be the same price as POP.
Our brochures come out here in the Uk for package holidays in April or May so I'll be booking around then as I would prefer to do a package for the security aspects (we don't use credit cards), so while i understand that the prices for the Disney resorts can be quite good at certain times it is not for me! :goodvibes

Any info on how the Best Western lakeside is now ( its nearly 4 years since we were there ) would be appreciated.

Thanks

Claire

Can't believe its over 5 years since we were there. Just looked and it was Xmas 2005 so you have stayed there since us.

Just wanted to say if you do go for BW look at flight only and getting the hotel yourself, usually pay no more than £25/night for it so it can work out cheaper DIY but check the packages 1st. Easter week and Xmas week are the only times I have seen it above £25/night.

Although we stayed at BW 4 or 5 times(under different names/owners) and never had a problem we now far prefer LBV area.

We stayed there in 08/09 and it was fine, just a functional room really - no bells and whistles. But it was good enough for a crash pad after a hectic day at the parks! Free wifi was good too.

We didn't use the shuttles as we had a car, but we did look into it and found the times to be too restrictive. Some days were really early and others were late so we decided to just plump for the car.

I would recommend it to anyone.
