Just got Best Western DownTown Disney for $35 with Priceline for Oct 7. Rack Rates start around $99 so I'm feeling a little stoked, and very happy we're still on Disney grounds.

Resort fee I believe is about $5, plus Priceline added their own fees of about $10--let's see, there will be tax too of around $4--guess it's $55 overall.

Been seeing Wyndham on I-Drive for $32 lately and assumed I'd get that but didn't--happier with Best Western anyways.

Hope this info helps y'all out; been researching FOREVER thanks to y'all at DIS and am finally relieved we have a room at last.

Of course, any reviews would be helpful!

We're going on an Illuminations Cruise that night (it's our last night at WDW), so I'm not even going to request an Epcot room just so someone else can get it.

We stayed there twice last year on priceline bids, 28 I think and 32 per night. The rooms are large, a little on the older side, coffee pot in room, when we were there in sept. and nov. of 02 it was half empty or is that half full. But for the price its good. I liked Courtyard DTD better, and got that on the $20.02 special last year.

glad to hear it's alright :)

I was lucky to get the Courtyard 20.03 for the first night of our stay, but the last night for us is in Oct and they stop the promo for that month.

All the Priceline bids I've seen are under $35; also BW use to be 2.5 and not 3--but I believe the 2003 rennovations are done now (HOPEFULLY) so perhaps that's what notched it up to 3 star.

Also glad to hear the Courtyard treated you well, too---

I stayed at the BWDTD for a night in July for $25.00 on priceline. We had absolutely no issues with this hotel. The only mishap was that the first set of keys to our door did not work. We arrived about an hour and a half prior to check in time. Our room was not ready but had been assigned. When I asked whether the room had a view, I was told that a room is a $10 per night extra charge which sounded like a deal to me. We were put on the 14th floor with a truly wonderful view. One thing to note is that the busses to DTD do not run until the evening. I found that odd, actually. We were exhausted from traveling and ended up getting the in room pizza which was reasonable priced, large and tasty.

I would totally recommend this hotel for the price.

Hopefully we'll be offered the $10 upgrade as well :)

Thanks for the recommendation! We have a three and five yr old who don't know much about balconies--should I be a little concerned? Is the door easy to open for them?

It is a regular slider like most have in hotels. I believe there was a lock, but it was nothing spectacular to keep out industrious small children. As I am an overly cautious Mom, balconies in general would bother me with children that age. But this one wasn't any different from other hotel balconies. You know your children best, though. I suppose you could use the method people used to use in homes to keep out robbers and bring a pole with you to place in the groove so it wouldn't open unless you removed it. The door is 'heavy' but it was not difficult to open.

thanks, that's just what I'm looking for :)

what kind of pole should I get then from home depot?

Why not call the hotel directly and ask them the size. I think people normally use a sawed off broomstick, but length would be critical. Small children seem to fit in the smallest gap imaginable!

I have just returned from this hotel and had a great room. It was newly refurbished with a view of the fireworks. I stayed here last summer but got an older style room. They were both Priceline bids. I actually preferred it to the Courtyard this time around.

Thanks, Tracy :)
Glad to hear that you got a great room -- and that they don't discriminate the priceline bidders :)
