Best WDW resort with two toddlers?

Working out the details of a trip for two couples, each with a two-year-old. We're considering BLT for the walking distance to the Magic Kingdom (and Monorail to Epcot), BCV for the excellent pool, and AKV for the animals.

We're thinking we'll share a room (likely a 2bd) so that we can share a kitchen and laundry, but if cooking doesn't seem likely, we may opt for a couple of studios instead, in which case, we may consider the poly.

Any suggestions? We've never done a WDW with a baby, or with family, so lots of new going to happen on this trip! Any baby-specific amenities I should be thinking about?

I personally do not think the BCV is a good pool for toddlers. The only area they can enjoy is the shallow pool and you have to make sure they don't leave it and wonder across the narrow walkway into very deep water.

Honestly at two years old I would go with what works best for the adults which would probably be BLT. The kids will be happy anywhere and never remember it.

As to the animals at AKV again at that age they will enjoy them just as much at the Animal Kingdom Park. There are many times at the resort due to coming and going you won't see animals.

I agree with this. SAB is great for older, taller children with more water training.

I would go BLT if monorail is the hope. VGF is also lovely, but fiendishly point-pricey for the 2BR. Toddlers love the splash pad and monorail. At AKV, kidani's solash area is nice, as is the zero-entry pool, but the corridors can be the hike.

Thanks, Sammie & Aurora! We were leaning towards BLT, but thought I'd throw the question out there. It occurred to me after posting that kids that young who love a pool would be happy in any pool, and yeah, they wouldn't care about the other stuff. We took our DD to the zoo around her birthday, but she paid more attention to other people than she did any of the animals (she loves the aquarium, though). Wasn't sure if that would change in a year and a half, though. First kid, so we have no idea what we're doing. o_O

So I figure BLT would be a good option, we'll be close to the Top of the World Lounge (that's still a thing, right?) and good proximity to other stuff.

How about specific amenities for kids, like play spaces or what not? Anything I should be looking for or know about?

There is a splash pad over near the main pool (so, not the Cove Pool -- the pool behind CR proper). It's a fountain-and-spout area, not the climbable play areas like at Poly or VGF, but I've never found my kids to be overly particular (especially if they hadn't SEEN the other ones, heh). There's a playground near the Garden Wing.

One thing I'll note is that a MKV can be loud with the fireworks, which may be a concern.

There is a water play area at BLT. It is beyond the pool on the left side when facing the lake.

We're at BLT in a lv 2br now, with grandparents, my family (2 kids) and my sisters family (1 kid). The kids are 4.5 yo and 7 mos. and 3 mos. my family is in the King BR - baby in a pack and play and older kid in an inflatable toddler bed. My parents are sharing w my sister, her partner and their baby, who's in a crib, in the 2Q BR which is larger. The proximity to MK is worth every penny. With small kids you can bop over easily with or without kids without having to wait for a monorail or fold your stroller for the bus. You could take turns sitting for the children while the other parents enjoy a night out. Also not sure if this is the case with other 2 BR but there are 3 full baths as well.

I know its not where you have asked, but for toddlers we loved both SSR and AKL Kidini. They both have great splash areas for the kids, and SSR has an area with mini slides and water play area. Granted they are not close to parks, but BLT is only close to MK.
