We are debating celebrating my 60th BD and our 40th anniversary in December 2015. I would love input on which resort you think would be the most enjoyable of the MK resorts.
:yay:

I would choose a Theme Park View in which the Polynesian would work nicely, but since it will. Have construction going on I would suggest the Contemporary. You can walk to MK and have a great view.

I'd say Contemporary Resort. We loved the Bay Lake View, and then when we were around at the time of the MK fireworks going to the end of the hallway that was closest to MK and watching them from the open outside stairwells. They were less crowded than the 4th level concourse. MK view for a room would work as well, but we found the Bay Lake View so relaxing and loved watching the electric water parade from the balcony.
Wherever you chose, I'm sure you'll have a lovely birthday/anniversary celebration.

I was told by our Disney travel agent that the MK view from the Contemporary - on a higher floor level - has an awesome fireworks view, and that they pipe in the music and the story on one of the TV channels. That is what we are doing next month. :>

Here's what I would do. Book a lake-view CL room at the Contemporary. That way, you have the best of both worlds. A wonderful TPV from the lounge and its balcony for fireworks. Plus the gorgeous (and peaceful) lake view from your room.

Try browsing the Best Room View Photos thread for some possible views from the resorts you're interested in. Even if it takes a while, it's worth it - there are some stunning pictures in there!

Bay Lake Tower hands down! We had an amazing view of the nightly Wishes program. Our room looked right over Space Mountain. It was so awesome to sit on our own balcony and watch the fireworks in our jammies! I also was able to get some amazing pictures.

This is a GREAT idea!

My favorite place to be for Wishes is the beach at Poly, and that's where I go no matter where I am staying.

Best fireworks view is from Contemporary tower TPV first, Poly beach or TPV room second.

Thank you for the great responses. We are getting ready to go to WDW for the 1st time in late September and I am really excited to experience this trip with our granddaughters, DD, SIL, and DH. It will be the first time for all of us. I am so looking forward to seeing Halloween done WDW style and would also love to experience WDW at Xmas time. Time for more research :cool1:

The beach at the Polynesian :) always amazing !
