Best WDW merchandise discount?

We will have both APs and a Disney Visa on our August trip. I heard there is a 10% merchandise discount with either of these options, but with the Visa you have to have a 50 minimum purchase. Is one of these options better than the other? Do they pretty much both allow discounts at the same places? If they are very similar, I will probably buy Disney gift cards at Target to save 5%, and just use my AP. I hate carrying around a ton of gift cards, but saving 5% instead of the 1% on the Visa is definetly preferred, as long as I can save at the same stores. Is there any reason not to get the gift cards? Is there a way to combine them into cards with higher increments? I am also thinking of getting some to pay for our OOP dining & tips (we have more meals scheduled than the DP allows), plus would like to use them to buy the TIW card. Am I missing something?

I have been reading about a coupon printed on the back of QS receipts -- 20% off some stores (usually the "big" one in each park ie: MouseGears, etc).....folks were saying it was good through Aug 6, but I hope they extend the dates. I would love to see that coupon on my trip.

I used a pile of Target gift cards for my trip last year, and it was very convenient. Only a prob if you need to return something (which I didnt). You can also write on the back of them w/a sharpie if needed. I just took what I needed for the day and left the rest in the safe - just about everywhere takes them.

Oh, yeah...the coupons are good thru Aug 6, but you have to use them by 1pm. I got a similar coupon last year...it meant me and my Disney Dooney were meant to be! Again, hope they extend these awesome coupons!
