I've used three title companies. I asked the title agent to tell me when the seller paperwork was complete and wire that day. ALWAYS CALL TO CONFIRM WIRE INSTRUCTIONS. Closing is always that day or the next.
I have two brokerage accounts that allows wires for free.
There were wiring instructions with our closing docs. It included the name of the institution, routing number and account number. Our bank didn't charge a fee because of the type of checking account we had.
I paid $25 for my bank. I think it was similar in price to mail a check and while a bit scary wiring felt faster. I usually call to verify the information before sending.
Our bank charged $25 or $30 to wire money. We called the title company after the money was titled. They emailed us within a day letting us know the money was received.
I think we paid $30 for our wire, no fee on the title company side for them to receive it (apparently some charge to receive). We waited to send it until we knew that the seller's paperwork was on the way back to the title company.
