Best Way to Save on Universal Tickets

We are doing Disney and one day at Universal this coming May. I have learned all the tricks of the trade to saving on Disney but what have others done to save on Universal tickets, transportation to and from Universal from a disney hotel, and food at Universal? We already are staying at our Disney hotel for the full duration of our trip so we will not be able to do a split stay.

My brother used Uber to get from Disney to Universal and said it was reasonable. I purchased some 4 day tickets (for a future trip) for Universal from Undercover Tourist using the Amex discount. 4 days cost just $34 per day.

That is an Awesome deal!!! Between my husband and I we have 3 American Express cards. Going to buy a one day ticket on each card and then buy the rest from Unviversal online since they seem to have the best price. Thanks for this information!!!

USSSA has the best prices I've seen on Universal tickets, especially tix for a shorter stay. Several here on the DIS have bought tickets from them. The tickets available on their website now must be used before 12/31/15 but they do update them periodically. Don't hate me, but our best discount comes from having a friend who works there and sometimes gives us free tickets when we visit! (Get to know a cast member, or whatever Universal calls them.)

I suppose I should add, we knew her for many years before she moved to Florida.

Bought ours through "tickets at work". Came out a bit better than Undercover Tourist.

Seems they are all about the same for one day park to park. Universal on line comes out to $156.56 per ticket with tax. But Undercover Tourist comes ahead by a savings of $3 per ticket.

Best way - buy an annual pass and visit again the following year.
