best way to room request??

We will be arriving 11-15 for a 9 day stay. WE will be at AKL in a standard room. What is the best way to request a room or a list of possible rooms. WE used to fax in a request a few days before arriving. Is that still the best way. When I did my online check in there was no place to request close to transportation or dinning like there was in the past.
HELP!!

HELP!!

Call the Main Reservations Line and have your requests added to your reservation. This can be done any time from the day you book up until 4-5 days out.
 
I chose from the drop-down menus on the online check-in page, we also faxed that we'd like to be as close as possible to transportation, and will fax again 3 days out from our trip.
 

We have touring Plans send a fax. I despise calling. I figure a phone call doesn't get more weight than any other method. The fax gets the info there, that's all that matters.

They have disabled the choices on the drop down on the website
 
I just called in to add a room request. I was told that the request had to be made within 10 days of the reservation start. So...I can call in on Oct 30 for my Nov 8 reservation.

They were incorrect. Call back for another agent
 
My personal theory is they are disabled intentionally due to complaints from guests who can't comprehend the definition of "request"

Possibly. Would be nice if it was removed all together, with its current state of pull downs with no options it looks broken rather than disabled.

Side question, Are people blocked form attaching images until a number of posts? Looks like I can only link an image and am not given the option to attach.

And yes, all resorts have the same exact empty drop down box option currently. And yes, it would be nice if they'd take it away if that's their plans but honestly, they struggle with a lot of wrong info on the website. This is just 1 of a long list. And every time they try to fix or work on something, they break the website for several days. I vote for them to leave it alone. A non-working drop down box for room requests is really no big deal. A non-working MDE is.

I always call and have a CM make a note on the reservation. But ironically, the times we have been upgraded are the times we asked for basically nothing.
 
The Grand Floridian fax number does not seem to be listed at all. Any other suggestions for GF fax?

I rarely make requests, but my last solo trip I wanted a refurbished room at Pop. When I called the phone CM said I didn't need to request that because if there was a refurbed room available they would automatically assign it to me???? So I faxed 4 days before politely requesting a refurbished room if possible and was able to get one.
