Best way to *relax* at WDW

My favorite way to "de-stress" after a long day at WDW is to end it at Epcot, specifically WS. Between the drink and crepes stands in France are some tables which can be pushed right up to the wall for easy viewing of Illuminations. I go early, settle in with a glass of champagne or three, watch people, then turn around at 9 to see the show. It tends to be rather quiet there, and the evening atmosphere at WS is lovely. It's a perfect way to relax, especially when your day has been busy and your feet are sore! :cloud9:

We love to sit on the beach at the Polynesian and watch the firewors :earsboy: A wonderful way to bring the day to a close

We like to head back to the hotel after lunch for a nap. 2 adults and a 7-year old. Been doing it for 4 consecutive trips and it helps us get through the evening. A trip to the pool with a rambunctious 7 year old boy is NOT relaxing for any of us! LOL!

I like to take a whole day in the middle of our vacation and do nothing but swim at the resort pool/rent boat/walk and have an ADR for a great dinner!

Relax in WDW mum just wouldn't allow it however TL is pretty relaxing so we all savour our moments there

One of my magically relaxing moments on our trip was getting a huge margarita at a bar in AK and sitting on a path sipping it slowly while the parade went by and our kids enjoyed a mickey bar. After a fast paced vacation, it was lovely to sit and relax there (and hey, we weren't driving home)

With 4 small kids, I don't find the pools at all relaxing.......

Sitting on a bench (under an umbrella of course) just people watching.

A massage at SSR Spa.

Renting a Pontoon Boat at OKW & riding up past SSR & DTD.

Sleeping in.

Sometimes for us, all we need is one of the relaxing rides, like the People Mover in MK or Spaceship Earth in Epcot. Shows can be good too for sitting down for a little while.

We also have an early dinner or a late lunch at a TS restaurant every day. It helps us recharge and prepare for evening activities.

We used to take a whole day off to relax mid trip, but then that day did not always seem relaxing because there is still so much to do :-) Last trip we did take afternoon breaks (at least 4 hours) and that was really great and really did give a relaxed feel to the whole trip for us. We enjoyed the frantic pace of the parks, but it was nice to leave and return to the peace of the resort. We also visited the water parks for the first time and we really found these to be very relaxing for us.

We relax by not rushing. We don't set an alarm, but we keep the curtains open and let the sunlight wake us up, just like home. Also the room is very important to us and we always splurge on a nice one as we do spend a lot of time in the room. We go by how we feel that day. We have done 3 parks in 1 day and have also called it a day at noon, gone back to resort, to the pool have a drink take a nap and a bubble bath then go out for a romantic dinner.

I think it's important to listen to your body and not a schedule. If you really feel like sitting by the pool with a frozen drink or going back to your room for a nap and to put your feet up that is what you should do. You can't be a maniac every day......that is not a vacation.
