we are heading down in feb for our first trip to bcv. we purchased this past summer. i assume that it makes sense to buy multi day tickets with the lowest per day rate as long as they don't expire. we don't anticipate going more than once a year.

this time we will be going for 5 days but don't think we'll spend each day in the park.

i got completely confused looking on various disney links as to ph and uph passes, etc.

also there seem to be some independent sellers that offer what appear to be slightly better rates. i know we get some small dvc discount on tickets but am i better buying longer passes from these indep's?

thanks for any insight

We purchase 7-day PH tickets and save unused days for the next trip. My reasoning is that Disney regularly increases the price of tickets and if I have them aldready purchased I am saving money. We do tend to have a lot of 'plus" features left. I wish we went often enough to purchase annual passes!

UPH passes are not a good choice if you are not doing parks every day. There are many places to get discounted tickets, including AAA, which is fast and easy. Park Hopper Passes (No "Plus" features like water parks, Pleasure Island) at my local AAA:
4 day adult Park Hopper: $199
5 day adult PH: $222
6 day adult PH: $286

Unused days never expire. We usually buy these tickets. If you are not a AAA member, there are various sites with discounts, though often these are only Park Hopper Plus, which you may or may not want.

Go to the Budget Board for more ideas for places to buy.

If you time your trips properly, you can get really good value from Annual Passes, even if you only go to WDW once per year. You said you are going in Feb '04. If you intend on going back again by Feb '05, I'd suggest seriously looking at the AP.

The AP is good for 366 consecutive days of admission. So, if you go to WDW in the third week of Feb '04, a return trip by the second week of Feb '05 would be covered by the same pass.

The breakeven point for an Annual Pass when compared to Park Hopper passes is typically about 8-9 days.
